  1. I have a 997.1 and I have needed the female Torx sockets for a variety of things: removing guard plate for coils/plugs, removing throttle body, etc. I got a set from Sears on-ine for $9.99, plus shipping.
  2. I recently traded an '08 Cayman for a Carrera 4. The Carrera is definitely slower to start. The Cayman engine sprung to life; the Carrera certainly labors. I use a battery tender religiously, so I wrote it off as the same size battery trying to turn over a larger displacement engine. I still worry a bit every time I turn the key in a remote location.
  3. I recently bought a 2007 Carrera 4 with Sport Chrono with 10K miles The stopwatch on the dash died and I had to have it replaced. It was 4 different part numbers that had to be replaced. Thankfully, this was done under warranty. The only other issue I have had was a rough idle. I checked the coils and plugs and they were okay. I cleaned the throttle body with brake cleaner and elbow grease, as well as replaced the air filter and cleaned the airbox. The idle improved significantly. It is still not as smooth as my '08 Cayman, but I hear that the 997s run a little rougher for some reason.
