  1. I guess no other suggestions except just replace the O2 sensor. Ok I'll replace it again and see what happens. Thanks.
  2. well for CEL P1276 and P0153 means "Aging of Oxygen Sensor Ahead of Catalytic Converter (Cylinders 4 - 6) - Below Lower Limit". isn't "Bosch 15182 Oxygen Sensor - OE Type Before Catalyst" correct?
  3. i actually got them from amazon. they were bosch part #15182.
  4. hey guys, the cel on my MY2000 S just came on past weekend. i took it to a local auto zone and had it read and i got cel P1276 and P0153. now my question is not which O2 sensor this is or how to replace it. my question is, is this normal? the reason i ask is i had the same cel back in december 2007 and i had the o2 sensor replaced. in march 2010, i got cel P0133 and P0153 and had the 2 O2 sensors replaced as well. basically i get cel P0153 repeatedly and changing the same O2 sensor. should there be something wrong or was it just a bad o2 sensor i got? please advise. thank you.
  5. sorry it took me a while to get back. i tried the paper clip thing by removing the connector/wires and still no brake light on dash. what can i check next?
  6. ok, i guess no one has any ideas or no one else is having this problem except. me. :( i guess i have to take it to the shop to have it resolved.
  7. ok guys, my hand break light on my dash went out about 8 months ago. so i searched the forum and tried pulling the hand break rigorously few time and that fixed the problem. but just last week same thing happened again and this time pulling the hand break repeatedly did not fix the problem. so i thought for sure the microswitch has gone bad. so i switched out the microswitch. but that did not fix the problem. my break light on the dash still not on hence the convertible top not operating. i have not yet putting the center console back just in case this is something else i need to check. so please help. what is the problem and what is my next step? thanks in advance.
  8. ok guys, i was experiecing the same problem about 8 months ago and i used pulling the hand break few time and that fixed the problem. but just last week same thing happened again and this time pulling the hand break did not fix the problem. so i thought for sure the microswitch has gone bad. so i followed the instruction of removing the center console and switched out the microswitch. but that did not fix the problem. my break light on the dash still not on. i have not yet putting the center console back just in case this is something else i need to check. so please help. what is the problem and what is my next step?
  9. ok, now that i have both O2 sensors replaced. will the cel reset (turn off) itself? i have heard that after 3 complete cycle of engine start up and cool down, the cel should reset itself. is this correct? or do i need to take it to the shop have them reset it for me?
  10. ok i just received my O2 sensors and got my MY00 boxster s up and ready to replace. before i proceed, i just want a confirmation. can one of the porsche gurus please take a look at the pic (borrow it from mikefocke's page) and confirm the correct parts. thank you all.
  11. what is the life span of an O2 sensor? i have replaced the one one the driver side 2 or 3 years ago, not sure. but the other 3 has never been replaced. is it normal the passenger side O2 goes bad after 10 years and 106,000 miles?
  12. MY2000 S with around 106,000 miles. no i don't have an oiled air filter either. i heard about the problem the oil from the filter can cause. my friend's 996 had that problem. is there some other problem may cause the CL P0133 and P0153? how should i clean the O2 sensor?
  13. ok loren. will do. i will clean them first and have them check it again. but are they the same O2 sensor and is my bosch part number correct (bosch part #15182)?
  14. hey loren, you are absolutely correct. i took my car to a different auto zone and they had no problem reading it. now i got 2 error codes, P0133 and P0153. i believe they are bad O2 sensors, both before the catalytic converter and on driver side and passenger side respectively. so does that mean they are identical O2 sensors, bosch part #15182? or are they different? please let me know so i can proceed to order them. thank you
  15. hi guys, last week i took my MY2000 boxster s to a local auto zone to have my CL diagnosed and after they plug in their OBD2 to the port and nothing. has anyone experienced that problem before? if the port doesn't work, then the only way to find out my CL code is taking my car to my shop and it will cost me around $90 to have it diagnosed. please help.
  16. i tried WD-40 already and it still doesn't seem to work. i guess i'll take it to a tire shop. thank you both ross1 and murice. but here lies the catch 22. the reason for doing this in the first place is to inspect the reason for the grinding noise. now that i have to drive it to get the lug nuts loosen and back. is this going to do more damage to the car/wheel or what ever the parts? that's what i am worried about. :(
  17. UGG, FRUSTRATION!!! why do they make the lug nuts so tight that you can't take the tires off!!! what happens if i get a flat in the middle of no where!!! ok maurice, i tried. i tried for over an hour to take the lug nuts off and i can only mange to get 3 out of the 5. i had the same problem when i replaced my AOS. but i jacked up the car anyway to look underneath. of course there is not much you can see with the wheel still in tact. i cleaned off any residue or debris that i can see, which is not much. what else can i do now? please help?
  18. thanks maurice. once again you have come to the rescue. i'll take the wheel off and take a look. oh one other info i should have included is that when i make a left turn, the noise will reduce. it is like the weight of the car is lifted off of the right wheel.
  19. hi guys, i am not sure if i have the same problem but i am not sure where to ask either. i pull out of the garage yesterday and heard a real sharp high pitch grinding noise came from my rear right wheel. i know it is not the engine or the break because the noise only starts when car is moving. i am planning on taking it to the shop because i have absolutely no clue what happened or what to inspect/look for. i am even afraid to drive it. please help and give me some idea what may be wrong with it. it is a MY00 boxster s. thanks whole bunch.
  20. so the part number for MY2000 S is Bosch 15183, correct?
  21. i ordered bosch O2 sensor part number 13806 last time. but i just checked mike focke's page and i think i may have replaced with the wrong one. would that have caused the short lifespan? or would the wrong O2 even work? on mike's site, for a MY2000 S is listed as bosch 15183. is this correct?
  22. hey guys, i got a cel p0153 couple days ago. i got the code from m y local autozone store. as soon as the guy gave me the code i knew i had this problem before and sure enough i have gotten the same code and replaced the O2 sensor about 1-1/2 ago. now since i have replaced this sensor before so is not a big deal for me to replace it again. but my question is this normal for the same O2 sensor to go bad in such a short time span while all other sensors are still fine. or would there possibly be any other problem that may cause this code to come up. "P0153 Aging of Oxygen Sensor Ahead of Catalytic Converter (Cylinders 4 - 6) - Below Lower Limit" thank you all in advance.
  23. hi all, i have search the forum and haven't seen anyone posted this problem before so i am just curious. i have experienced this issue for couple of years now but it is not a big deal because the car always fix/reset itself. the problem is whenever i park my car (MY00S) with the top down under a sunny day, when i try to lock or unlock the car, it will horn one time like a compartment is open. and even when i drive away, the central locking light on the dash is lite like i lock the car and in fact i didn't. i can repeatedly press the button to lock and unlock the central locking inside the car, it will horn one time like when i try to lock/unlock with my key. also the light will not turn off. again like i said, the car always reset itself after i park the under the shade, in the garage or some where covered, for a while this problem will go away. does this has anything to do with direct sun light to the alarm sensor or something. any ideas? thanks again.
