  1. Hey Rabbit, What ever happened with this build? are you done...? What's the outcome?
  2. Hello, I have a 2004 Porsche Cayenne S and the Drivers Side folding mirror function stopped working... The passenger is working fine albeit there is a delay when I set it back to the normal extended position. The Driver side mirror in question feels a bit loose and not solid in extended position like to passenger working side. I had my Cayenne recently serviced and I suspect that it was possibly broken during that time... Does anyone have any idea or DIY for fixing the auto folding mirrors? I spoke to the dealership but its basically my word vs their word at this time. Any help and/assistance is greatly appreciated! Thanks! Andrew
  3. I want this car, buying lots of lotto tix
  4. Hi Pugs2bb, I already replaced the purge valve recently... There was a crack on top of the filter, no cracks on the flange.. Replaced seals, filter, and pressure regulator on other side for good measure. No more smell.. Decided to hold of on the pumps until they bite the dust... Ill probably do this myself in the future.
  5. I just put these on my 04 S http://www.tirerack.com/tires/tires.jsp?tireMake=Bridgestone&tireModel=Dueler+H%2FP+Sport&partnum=745YR9HPSXLN0&vehicleSearch=false&fromCompare1=yes So far really like them.. also porsche(N0) rated as well
  6. My car radio wasn't working. The backlight of the screen was glowing, like it was turned on, but no sound and nothing on the screen... Black Even with the keys out and doors locked, it was still glowing. I was afraid it was draining the battery... I go into the car, key in the ignition, without turning it. Wait a full minute. Press 1 4 8 on the numeric pad, at the same time. Radio makes some mechanical sounds, like it was shutting down and then it goes from glow white to pitch black. I take the keys out of the ignition and lock the door. I open the door and put the keys back into the ignition. This time, I turn the key and start the car. I press the radio power knob The radio miraculously turns on!!! I press the radio switch again and it turns off, like it should... Looks like a system lock up but concerned if this is tell tailed signs of something more sinister.
  7. I'm thinking my idle issue is due to fuel pumps/fuel filter flange/fuel pressure issue related. I'm smelling raw gas on outside rear drivers side which leads me to the flange, pumps etc.. Having Porsche fix as don't feel comfortable around flammable possiblities..
  8. Hey since you are on a roll with yours, can you stop by my house and help me change out my fuel pumps!
  9. You need to remove the wind tail/fairing/fin piece from the roof... once you remove that part, you will see there is a hose (black) near the spray nossle (red) and it will more than likely be disconnected. I coupled them back togehter only to find it would speparate again and again with the same issue you are having. After going though the assembly and disassembly several times, I finally decided to lightly glue the hose to the spray nossle with a very light light coat of gorilla glue... Make sure not to get any on the inside Wait a full day to dry before testing.. Did the trick for me.
  10. So I understand what the flange is, I think... as it is not explained well on most sites... The "flange" is actually built into the the fuel filter on the drivers side and the flange on the passenger side is built into the "pressure regulator" on the passengers side. These parts with the "flange" sit on top of the left and right fuel pumps.. It almost makes sense to replace everything when you need to bust open the fuel tank... Pumps, Filter/flange, Pressure regulator/flange, seals and that fuel line connector pump to filter flange and just be done with it. ?
  11. I went to Dealership and got $1,800 quote to replace the pumps... Not sure if I want to pay that kind of $ for this...I looked at the PDF on how to get in, remove and replace pumps.. Doesn't look to bad but others saying a PIA to do..? Pugstbb, when you refer to fuel tank flange, do you mean this seal ? 955-201-133-01-M100 Should I change out just the seal on the drivers side along with new fuel line connector 955-620-911-00-M100? Again, no CEL's but intermittent longer than normal time for engine to turn over upon starting plus the raw gas smell on same side. I do notice the longer engine turn over time happens when sitting in sun for extended period of time (heat expansion exacerbating issue)
  12. Hi Loren, Thanks for stepping in on this.. I found this on the site.. May be my issue as well? http://www.renntech.org/forums/topic/34640-fuel-smell-from-left-rear-wheel-well/ http://www.renntech.org/forums/topic/39284-fuel-smell-in-garage/ There are no visiable leaks, just smell the fuel fumes from the rear driverside... I have a generic scanner but nothing pending nor active Thinking at 110K may just replace the pumps and filter and be done with it? Possible still under warranty for "emmissions"? for a 2004?
  13. I believe I have isolated the raw gas smell to the rear drivers side.... Any suggestions? Not sure what need to look at when I bust open the rear seat to look at the fuel tank/pumps etc...
  14. Hey all, Starting to smell raw gas from back of car... Do not smell from interior. Smells stronger (I believe) on rear right side (passenger) but also smell it on the rear right (driver) side of the car. I am having intermittant issues with the car taking a bit more time to turn over when starting up but its not consistant. I'm suspecting fuel pump(s) leaking drivers side fuel tank flange and/or on their way out completely... 110K on the Pig and no CEL... Is this what I need ? new flange (which is an updated part and should show up made of black plastic as opposed the original which will be white plastic) youll need two of 955-201-133-01-M100 and one 955-620-911-00-M100
  15. Based on your description on DIY mount replacement... I guess I'm going to deal with the slight vibration annoyance... Again, I read elsewhere it could be fuel pump related and/or O2 precats going bad.. I finally had a chance to change out my coils and plugs, minor improvement overall (if any) after replacement (@110k miles). Plugs looked within normal range (color tan/rust to light grey in color) nothing wet or oily burnt nor gas smell at the business end. I did find some oil around a couple of spark plug threads. I was told that there is a slight valve cover leak... may be the culprit
  16. I was just doing my New Year Air Filters change and I just noticed/realized (for the first time) that it mentioned disconnecting the "air line on the right air cleaner cover" For the life of me I never saw or remembered having to disconnect or have seen this "Air Line" on my vehicle... I have done some research and it looks like this line is only for those of have "Air Ride Suspension?" I just want to confirm as I DO NOT have "Air Ride" on my 2004 Cayenne S and don't see the line for the life of me.. I do see a place to attach it on the back side of the filter cover but it looks like it was plugged/terminated with a plastic "stopper" Happy New Year to All...
  17. Yea, thats a good idea on testing the fuel pressure.. The tester looks quite reasonable in cost
  18. I have read in some other forums that the Idle dip can be due to failing fuel pumps. As I mentioned earlier, im still getting some strange longer than normal crank times (infrequent) but happening still, even after replacing the Purge Valve for Fuel Vapor Canister The throttle adaptation doesn't seem to work for me... Again, planning on changing my sparks and coils but this may all be pointing to the fuel pumps...
  19. Yes, the 94810721702 is the engine crankcase to intake manifold breather hose... I already replaced it (and it was cracked) when I replaced my purge valve for fuel vapor canister 948-110-202-01 Does anyone know what part the other long accordion style pipe that sits above that breather hose you have arrowed? It goes from one side of the engine to the other and has a "T" pipe breather in the middle? i think its 948-107-215-52-M100 Maybe should replace this as well? may help with idle? I'm also at 105K miles and haven't changed the Sparks and Coils yet.
  20. A/C turned on, no change in idle... A/C coming to a stop, idle drop and slight vibration, no difference if A/C was off.
  21. I haven't noticed with A/C but I will test... The idle dip happens coming to a stop... Quick Minor idle dip with a Quick minor vibration. Otherwise idle is rock solid. Ill try with the A/C and report
