  1. Thanks gentlemen; I appreciate this all very much. I will start waterpump and thermostat.
  2. Hello Forums, My Cayenne 05 S is approaching 75,000 Miles. As these cars are ridiculously expensive to maintain, I'd like to do some pre-emptive maintenance on the vehicle before more things break and fall out. Could anyone let me know if there are things that they'd recommend changing or replacing at this age of a vehicle? Recent changes: New Plugs, Coils New Serpentine Belt New Oil Coolant Pipes Replaced (3 Years Ago) 2 Year-Old Wheels New Rear Brakes New Propeller Shaft Thanks!
  3. How is your engine oil consumption? This is a common symptom in 04 - 05 of a scored cylinder. Hope yours is ok!
  4. FYI The bracket on this thing is what I'm talking about: http://www.ebay.com/itm/2004-PORSCHE-CAYENNE-3-2-V6-REAR-LEFT-DRIVER-DOOR-LATCH-LOCK-ACTUATOR-/321401861110?pt=Motors_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories&hash=item4ad50b33f6&vxp=mtr
  5. Hi guys, I just recently changed the lock on my car door as the actuator was broken. There's a retaining cover (white plastic piece) that I forgot to put back. It's a pain in the *** to do it all over. I just wanted to ask what it's for? If it's a fairly unimportant piece of cover, I think I'm going to skip it and lazy on it... otherwise... off with the door tomorrow! Thanks. C
  6. Same noise here. Starter Motor. Minor grievance really. (Until the thing fries... hopefully not. Knock on wood!)
  7. Hi, Does anyone have the part number for an 05 Cayenne S's plastic piece next to the rear cabin lights? I'm talking about the small plastic piece which covers the hole for the cargo net when the seat is all the way down, dividing the front and back of the car. It is right next to the lights and above the switches. Thanks!
  8. Re my repairs: I actually just buffed it out with some rubbing compound followed by some polishing compound. All good now! Also - ScratchWizard.net I used their stuff to fix a huge bumper scrape. Now it's spotless.
  9. Well. Here's what happened: 1. Scratched car. Didn't know. 2. Out in the rain getting out of my car. See scratch. 3. Wipe area dry. Used polishing compound to get rid of the scratch. No good. 4. Wax the area. No good. 5. Used a ClearCoat marker (It's like White-Out, but with ClearCoat) on the scratch. Got rid of scratches. Walk away in happiness. 6. Check next day; Find dried, white wax under the clear coat marker marked area. 7. Frustration because I cannot get the white stuff out. Now it's a white mark in a sealed area. Annoying. :( Any recommendations? :(
  10. So I made an error. I got some scratches on my car. Rather than waxing it properly, I was outside in the rain and applied a layer of clear coat on top. Now, my clear coat has covered some white wax UNDER the coat and I can't get rid of it. Does anyone have any kind of advice on how I can remedy this situation? :( Thanks. .C
  11. Does not reset service indicators. Sigh. However; Still a great purchase. :)
  12. Bought TRW OEM Parts totaling 180$. Local mechanic charged for 1.5 hours of labour. Total cost: 330$.
  13. I don't think it's any of those. I'm talking about those pieces covered up by the headrests. (Between the two metal rods of the headrests)
  14. Hello forums, On the rear seats, just below the headrest, there are plastic "brackets" that lock the pieces into place on the bottom of the seat when you drop the seats to expand the cargo space. Does anyone know what the part numbers for those are? I need both left AND right. Thanks!
  15. Does anyone know the part number for the lumbar button cap? It's a piece of black plastic that has fallen off and all I have is a metal stick thingy :( Thanks!
  16. They're all the same for all models. It'll ask for Automatic or Manual scan / diagnosis.
  17. Hi Guys, I've got a 05 Cayenne S. I've removed the trim panel and gotten most of the rivets out in an attempt to get to the actuators. But my question is... can I replace the rivets with screws? If so, does anyone know what size and type? Thanks! .C
  18. Picked up the iCarsoft i960 This weekend. There's a video of the interface of this here: Needs no batteries and plugs into the port perfectly fine. I cleared a CEL Code with 4 Cylinder Misfires (Which is strange, since I JUST replaced the Cyls and Plugs about 4 months ago. Might be a weird occurence) Very simple. Excellent tool! Highly recommended.
  19. Hi Forums, Does anyone know the Left Rear Porsche Cayenne S 2005 Door Lock Actuator part number? Is it the same as the 06? Thanks!
  20. Haven't picked it up yet. (I have to drive an hour to pick it up from the shipping office) and should have it back this weekend. Will take photos.
  21. For anyone who might have this problem in the future: Rather than taking the door out from the back or cut the door open, you can take a very sturdy but slim coat hanger and pick out the handle tension cable. Simply pull the handle out as much as you can (Not forcefully of course), insert coat hanger between lock cylinder and handle and feel around until you disengage the cable from the outside handle. You should now be able to open the door from the inside.
  22. Got the i960 Porsche tool. Will report back on efficacy due to CEL!
