  1. Just traded in my Boxster for a 2002 996 Tiptronic. Love the car and enjoying it but have a few questions. In Auto - the car starts from a standing stop in 2nd Gear. Is this normal, or should it default to 1st? (I can change this manually using the steering wheel tiptronic controls, but want to know if this is the norm). It seems to move up the gearbox really quickly and be in 5th before I'm doing 40kph (so you have to drop it a few gears to accelerate). Is the gearbox a "learning gearbox" that adapts to the driving style, and is there any way to clear this "memory" if so? Car under a limited warranty, so trying to get all this sorted if necessary Any help on this much appreciated. Thanks, Dave
