Recently bought by first Boxster (56 plate) 2.7. On a dry motorway (on cruise control) the above lights came on a couple of weeks ago. Turned off car, lights stayed on but occasionally flicked off for a few seconds. Washed car and then the lights stayed off for about 100 miles. Lights reappeared... the car was going into Porsche for a replacement clutch switch and they then diagnosed the problem as follows: 4200 - off side front speed sensor line 4201 - not present. Porsche said they could not help with investigating further at £144/ hour. Told them I would get back to them. I am assuming there is a dodgy wiring connection somewhere and the ABS sensor (4201) is not actually at fault. Sound reasonable? So.... I went home and started investigating.... Disconnected the off side front ABS sensor AND brake pad sensor (behind brake calliper) All connections looked okay. Put it back together again, had another play around under the bonnet but did not actually remove any of the main bits of trim where the ABS bits are... Started car, (lights stayed on) and then turned off and stayed off for about 100 miles.... they then came back on and again fiddling with the same wires again (behind brake calliper) but did not actually disconnect the plug solved the problem. So... looks like that plug could be at fault. Questions: Can this plug be easily replaced? Where is the earth for this ABS sensor? What else could it be? Sorry for such a long first post but wanted to be clear! Cheers Stuart
