  1. After a 4 month winter storage, I am unable to start my '99 Boxster. I noticed the battery was drained and there was no power to the car - therfore I took the battery out (original Porsche battery) and charged the battery for 16 hours with a charger. Upon replacement of the battery, I have power as the instrument cluster lights up and all controls (including windows) seem to be working, but upon turning the ignition there is a clicking noise from the rear but motor is not turning over. Also after the ignition key is taken out - the odometer (mileage reading) and time clock continue to glow in the on position. Prior to storage car the boxster is in excelelnt running condition! Should I replace the battery with a new one? HELP!! thanks in advance for the responses Bobby1!
  2. Tool Pants Thank for your advise - this forum has been a tremendous help to me. I require the part number for the latch "micro switch" - any help? thanks in advance
  3. :help: Convertible top problem - 1999 Boxster Day one - I have read several posts and am trying hard to narrow down my problem with the top. Firstly, my issue began at late night when my top would not close after arriving home. After several tries (brake light on) I did try to push the small latch button on the slot (between sensors) and luckily the top cycled and closed properly. Day two - After thinking about the night before problem - I now was unable to open the top -hmm!! I started by checking all fuses - allo.k. My windows were lowering a few inches but the top was not opening. After pressing the buttom (between sensors) again my clamshell opened for 5 seconds and then froze and nothing afterwards. Also my windows were lowerd manullay and are now stuck in the lowered position. In summary - 1) clamshell open up 6-8 inches 2) windows lowered down all the way and not raising 3) roof (dash) button and pressing latch button (betwen sensors) dopes nothing 4) parking brake light is on and working fine. Help is appreciated kindly. Bobby1
  4. I have the "red" oil light flashing on the dash- can someone tell me the oil type I should add - '99 Porsche Boxster. How much should I add? - My bar lights are down one
  5. I need to convert my 99 Boxster odometer reading from miles to kilometers. Please advise of the buttons/steps to do this. Regards, Booby1
  6. thank-you - I unhooked the clips to he interlock switch and hard wired direct for now - turned over with ease. Sincerely, Bobby1
  7. Hello - this is my first post. My apologies if this has already been discussed before. I have a 99 Porsche Bosxter and have driving it for the last 3 days since my purchase. I turned the vehicle off and upon restaring was unable to get the car started. I tried to jump start the vehicle but no trun over. The battery is not the answer as the power top and all instrument options including radio are working fine. The is no noise of a "clicking" starter or anything - vehicle is quiet and no sounds of any sort - almost in an imobilized state. I was told there is a clutch microchip that might be fried?...I do not know anything about this. Any help is appreciated. Bob
