  1. I just picked up a like new used set off ebay for $150.00. Red/Clear. Love them! They really update the back end of the car, and I've got several compliments from other Porsche owners. You may also consider getting the LED 3rd brake light, because the new LED tails will light up much quicker than the traditional lights. Mine was all plug and play (although it took about 15 minutes to figure out which plugs go where because there are no instructions), once you figure out the layout, then it's a piece of cake.
  2. I actually have the side skirts and the rear aero package bumper pieces. They were just installed, and look great! Car is just about finished, so I'll post picts when I get her done.
  3. Keep an eye on ebay! I just bought a set for $300.00, which didn't have the little triangle piece, (which I bought at Pelican Parts for $50.00 for both). I actually missed out on an auction when they were even lower than that. A quick polish and they looked like new! Then sell your old ones, and you won't be out of pocket too much. Just make sure that the tabs and mounting points are not broken.
  4. I had this problem, but mine is a 2000 model, so I'm not sure it would help on your model 2003 car. My wire was connected to a grounding tab, which looked like a spade connector, which literally was mounted parallel to the left side of the back of the radio. I just taped mine off, and the problem went away.
  5. After a failed turbo-style bumper attempt, I've decided to go with the polyurethane GT3 style bumper. I've already bought the 997 side markers and the turn signals. Does anyone have the turn signal wires diagram so that I can hardwire the 997 lights to my factory turn signals? I've going to paint my headlights, and only leave the oval headlights, similar to the 997 look, so I'm moving the turn signal and fog lights down to the bumper. Wish me luck with all this!
  6. Oh, and don't forget to tape off that wire that attaches to the metal tab on the left side of the back of the original radio "cage". I reconnected it, and it kept triggering my alarm...which had me baffled!
  7. Here's my double din install. It's the Pioneer Avic D3 with the ebay kit. It was a quick install!
  8. Thanks for the comments! The clearcoat on the lenses are being done by the bodyshop that's doing the rest of the work. They've actually worked on several of my cars, and have done stellar jobs. They have polished my lights on another car of mine before, that were very nasty. They looked great after the polish, but by adding the clearcoat they looked even better, and they still looked brand new after 4 years. I have seen Loren's MKI front bumper with aero kit, which is essentially the kit I bought, except for the front bumper. His aero kit looks great, but I wanted something a little more aggressive than the smiley face look. And so now, my struggle is deciding between the turbo front end or the 997 GT3. I probably should have carefully considered which one I liked BEFORE I ended up buying both. lol.
  9. Here's a couple of update pictures. The first is my turbo style bumper, and I also have OEM turbo grills to go in it. The second is the prep before painting. The car really wasn't too bad, but I wanted to get all the rock chips done while it was at the bodyshop.
  10. Hello all, Just wanted to say hello, and thanks for all the valuable information that I've gotten from this forum. I finally bought my first 911 a couple months ago, and it's a 2000 Carrera C2, tiptronic. I've already begun the process of stripping her down and customizing her. So far, I've added the double-din nav system, new wheels, replaced a couple speakers, and various other maintenance things. She's currently at the bodyshop getting a rather extensive makeover that includes: GT3 sideskirts, rear aero fins(?), all rock chips taken out, headlights polished and clear-coated, interior pieces getting painted body color, brakes painted, a little spoiler, and I'm having a turbo style bumper put on, although I've just ordered the 997 GT3 style bumper also, so I'm not sure which look I'm going to go with. Well, just wanted to hello, and look forward to contributing to this forum in the future. Thanks, Peter
