I know, I had a full head of hair when you wrote that. Thanks for the response. Remote locking units are quite cheap these days and the estimated cost of fixing mine here in Australia is looking like thousands only to risk it failing again (just after its warranty is up). So I am looking at the possibility of connecting an after market unit with the existing wiring. Ever heard of this, I have seen one thread but it suggested there may be some shortcomings. Would appreciate your thoughts or experience. Regards Ron (Adelaide South Australia)

I am trying to source a door lock for my car. seems there are a million that will fit across different makes but only the more expensive ones seem to identify as suitable for vehicles with M535 option
