  12. as i drive my boxster 99 in a hot days...my water temp gauge goes up from 180F to about 220F a little bit off the center..Is this normal on all boxster..I live in florida which is a sun city... but i think that it is not normal for water temp to rise to 220F for a traffic and a sunny day...any suggestions on how to keep the temp gauge pointer from rising..is dont want to jump cleaning the radiator right away..i want to see first if there may be other reasons..or if that is normal for bosxter since its a high compression engine..1:11 compression ratio..
  13. check again at broad daylight your coolant level...its "hard" to see the level...the max should only be about half an inch to the top...if you can see the arrow pointing upward as the max..then see the line.....if this dont work. ...you have to check the temp sensor underneath the coolant container..
  14. Hi Guys...Happy to be a member of this site...Thanks a lot...

  15. Your mechanic can be trusted because he did not point out to you a big job... he may be right...the belt accumulate dirt so much that over time...and its with oil, dust and all types of contaminant that are up in the air as you drive this hardens up the belts...the cheapest way is to clean the belt is with soap and water using a clean rug. You dont need to take it off the engine..You can reach it out as you scrub it back and forth...If this dont work try a pulley belt cleaner in spray can.. Its better to start with the easiest and the cheapest suspected trouble than be dreaded by all those slipping clutch, release bearing and all....believe me trust your mechanic.... the squeling sound you hear is usually when its raining and early in the morning when the belt has moist in it...When it squels the belt gets hot and dries up quick and goes to grips the pulley back again...
