  1. The trouble is not the issue. The issue is that I sell the car in the Middle East for half the value since the buyers know you are leaving the country. So even if the cost is 20K USD then its worth it. The thing I do not understand is that its not an EPA things since the car exhaust is the same as the US spec cars. I have to pass emissions testing in order to register the car in Dubai. Additionally it isn't a safety thing since I have 6 airbags, SRS system just like the U.S. The speedo can display either KMph or MPH with the push of a button. The only difference is the bumpers and I don't think that justifies a 20K USD price tag for the conversion. The DOT really needs to update themselves on new standards but I just don't see that happening.
  2. Hi, I am new to the forum but I m trying to find a company in the U.S. to import my foreign 2007 Porsche Cayman S. I need a company that has some experience and knows what is required. Porsche USA wont help, the dealer here in Dubai, UAE is useless and Porsche in Germany doesn't care. I have reviewed the NHTSA and DOT as well as the EPA websites and understand the process but I need to find a company that knows what they are doing. Many of the U.S. importers just tell me they are not interested. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
