"Hi + thanksMy car is a 997tt 1st gen with sport chrono.
Yes....It is Sport Chrono....But the button just says" Sport".Yes...The manual is from Gen 2, but the info about the sport overbost, arrow etc. is the same.DC
So which gauge is normal and why does Porsche have 2 different gauges in the same year 997 TT ('07)
Thanks

Or are you really just asking what the numbers on the dial say?
In that case I would have to look at several as I don't recall. I think it is relative anyway unless you think you have a boost problem.
Exactly what I am looking for. I honestly don't think I have any boost leak as car seems to run pretty strong with out any hiccups. However, if my boost gauge reads in bars (0-0.5-1 bar) / psi (0-7-14) vs other cars that reads 0-9-18 so would that means the maximum boost I will run would be 1 bar/14 psi?
I do see an up arrow not sure what that means though?
Stock boost pressure ( 14 psi or 18 psi) in a 997.1 TT?
Sorry for all the inconvenience I might be causing?

OK Loren, I need little help interpreting the ^ data.
Also not sure if that data answers my question though?
Question is: what should the stock boost guage in an '07 997 TT read, 0-6-14 or 0-9-18?
Btw, changed my member status, you guys are great.
Thanks

Hello Folks,
Just trying to figure out what the stock boost guage in the dash should read in a 997.1 TT?
I have seen some '07's with 0-6-14 and some '07 with 0-9-18 in the dash.
If the guage reads 0-14, it seems like when in boost (sport mode), there will be an up arrow where as with 0-18 guage there's not.
Is it a programming issue or did the early '07's had a different boost guage?
Any body has any insight in this boost guage thingy for us?
Any way to verify if the car is boosting what it's suppose to boost?
Loren?
Thanks

I had the same issue with my 2007 997 C4S. A closed trunk + dead battery = nightmare. The car was towed to RPMnorth here in Long Island, and the guys there knew exactly what to do since they are quite familiar with Porsches and the other European cars. They took the left (driver's side) front wheel off and the plastic covers from under the wheel well to expose the emergency trunk release cable. If you don't know exactly what to look for and have an untrained eye, you would never find it...or have an extremely difficult time locating it. Here are the pics.since the car is here, i might as well look into some mods. I just found out they have an extensive selection of performance parts for European cars on their online store www.rpmnorth.com... check em out!
My 997.1 TT has a plastic shield right below the cable in the picture above and instead of the looping cable in the picture ^, there's a yellow wire/cable (?) sticking out, is that it?
Thanks

Got stuck again. I accidentally left the key in the ignition and ofcourse couple of days later, the battery is dead.
Well just like in the past, I was able to get the key out using the red fuse in the fuse box with the hood picture on it but the button on the key FOB isn't working this time?
I even changed the battery in the Key but still no luck?
So what are my options at this time?
Can I open the hood directly via that fuse in the fuse box rather then using the key?
Gotta do something about this stupid dead battery thing though?
Thanks

Did you see an arrow as well? My understanding is, the cars with 0-9-18, did not show the up arrow even when they were in boost?
Thanks
