  1. Hi A friends similar car (1998 C4 996) locks itself when he pulls away. He hates it & wants it changed but I like it. As mine does not do it - is there a DIY way to do this ? Thanks Ro.
  2. I was wondering if anyone knew if the 996 C2 (mine is a 1998 car) rear suspension has drop links ? I was getting a knocking sound from the front going over rough roads & this was traced to the front drop links that were replaced - probloem solved. Now I am getting a very similar sound from the rear - a kind of thumping / knocking sound exactly the same as before. So maybe rear drop links need doing too ? Wasn't sure if the rears had them. car is 38k miles so I am not that annoyed as these things need doing at this mileage I guess. Julian.
  3. I might have a pair of clear front headlights for sale soon. They were bought for my 996 but look identical to the clears I had on my Boxster before. I know they are different product codes but will they fit a Boxster. It would help if they fitted a Boxster as it would open up the potential buyers. Thanks for any info. Julian.
  4. Scouser I called Europorscha up a couple of weeks ago & they said that the price was a mistake. I have found OPC prices (with my PCGB membership 10% discount) are similar to what the specialists are asking. The cheapest price new I can get one (just the hardware) for is around £900 from an OPC. I have been offered one for £600 plus VAT (used) which is an option. I would get it fitted by a specialist - the one local to me is very good & their labour rate is less than half the OPC's. OPC's also will not agree to fit it without the wiring in & button on dashboard, specialists are happy to fit just the boxes & fix them open - which is what I want. Ro.
  5. I had 8.5 x 18's & 10 x 18's on my 996 before I changed to carrera alloys. So fronts were bigger that yours & no problems. My rears are a little smaller than the ones you want to fit - all I can say is that 10 x 18's fitted fine with no issues - so I would think 11 x 18's you would need clarity on. Ro.
  6. Hiya In my quest for a Porsche Sports Exhaust I was offered some GT3 back boxes. Would these back boxes make a similar sound to a PSE ? If it sounded the same it would widen my search as a PSE is proving very difficult to find. Anyone heard a C2 with GT3 back boxes on ? My car is a 1998 C2 by the way. Thanks for any help. Ro.
  7. I heard of a place that maybe sells these tips to fit pre 02 cars. http://www.chiptuningusa.com I think Go to the SpeedART link. If you contact them & they do then let me know - I would be interested in these tips for my 99 C2 Ro.
