  1. I did some bulbs this weekend. Was pretty straightforward, just be patient. I had luck making sure the outermost bulb was aligned (not inserted) first then wiggled the rest into place. There is some trim/sheetmetal that is a bit troublesome, but it is possible. I actually had more trouble getting them out than putting them in. related: did your light sockets have the rear fogs in place? mine were missing Is this a non-US car thing?
  2. Ok, did some investigation. Apparently "lubricate the latch" was not in the previous owners vocabulary. I have only had the car for 2 months and never noticed. The dealer I took it to for repair offered to sell me an new latch on the spot. I think I will hang on to my $200+ and clean and lube the latch myself. It is not corroded, just sticky. Thanks for all the input, I did not realize there was another release in the fender. Good to know. Cheers!
  3. I hope this will not be a reoccurring theme. I was on a rural highway and the hood opened at 50-60 mph. Talk about dumb luck. I close the hood the same way every time, I'm not sure why this happened. Off to the dealer for new hood, hinges, maybe wipers. Windshield and header escaped without damage (amazing)
  4. I have noticed the two release clips at the top corners of the windstop rattling around at speeds around 75-80 mph. Yesterday, I was doing 85, and just caught the windstop as it was ejecting from the car! Anyone else have these issues? Suggestion for a fix? The clips are just too loose, but I don't want to start screwing things down, nor do I want to get sued when the thing launches out of the car and starts a freeway pile-up. Car is a 99 986 with 39k miles. Way out of warrenty. Unless it was a safety recall, I dont think the dealer would help.
