  1. The fuel vapour recovery valve (bleeder valve) located at the top of the filler neck may be part of the problem. I noticed that there is a manual way to open this valve while filling. On the right side of the filler opening you will notice a pair of parallel plastic pieces. The one closest to the filler neck can be depressed with a grounded screw driver (avoid sparks) to open the bleeder valve. This allows the displaced gas and vapours caused by refuelling to be directed to the charcoal tank where they are stored to be burned later when the engine is running. Thought I should post this since I have been unable to find a reference to the manual operation anywhere else.
