OK - good to know. Thanks. On removing the trim pieces: will figuring out how to get them off be more or less obvious once the seat is removed? I've read up on the seat removal process and have the correct torx sockets now. Trim removal always seems to be the hardest part of these DIY jobs (worried about breaking a tab, etc). Regarding your comment on warranty: My '06 is just out of warranty and despite complaining about this to the dealer on several occasions, I was never able to get them to remove the seats and inspect more closely. They checked/tightened the bolts that connect the seat rails to the floor since they are of course very easy to get to. I could tell by the feeling and sound of the clunk that it was coming more from the area you've described (higher up, above the floor). Thanks again.

Hello, When pulling away from a dead stop, about 50% of the time I notice a really annoying "clunk" in the drivers seat back. It's subtle but it drives me crazy. I've checked the bolts from the lower frame to the floor rails and that doesn't appear to be the problem. I swear that the clunk is coming from the seat back relative to the seat bottom where there's obviously a hinge for the seat back to swing forward when needed. It seems that there must be something there that I can check for tightness but I can't figure out how to get the plastic trim off to expose any hardware. As always, any advice is greatly appreciated. Wonderful desription! Since I've had the same problem with my 06 for over a year, I will try to look and see if the same conditions exist. What did you do to "fix" the root cause? Just try to reposition the wide fabric strap with respect to the vertical piece of plastic or something else? Thanks again for your detailed post.
