  1. Loren & All My Techart exhaust made by Supersprint has two separate exhaust chambers/cans which do not interconnect, whereas most other after market systems do in some manner. Is it worthwhile getting a crossover pipe welded in, what difference does mixing the exhaust gases between the chambers make PLEASE ? http://www.supersprint.com/homeuk.htm
  2. Tks done that now, a Torx head also fits this, very happy to see my interior TURBO badge when I walk to the front of the car
  3. Has anybody done this, any particular procedure please, Tom I'm sure you must have, and if you are on a weight saving drive try replacing the door instep steel "turbo" logo kick plates for the Carbon/plastic ones from part4porsche as stock is surprisingly heavy
  4. Just to say for the last 3 months or so one and off I have had a misfire under heavy acceleration, had me mistified, plugs, blown hoses (of which I did have one but not the root cause), MAF etc ??? Had my main dealer mystified too for 2 full days, they swapped just about everything incl ECU etc and it came down to a slightly corroded pin (not even visible to the eye apparently) on the wire unit connecting to the MAF Just in case anybody else experiences something similar. Had the 30 KM service done at the same time and they were pretty gentle with the labor costs compared to what I expected
  5. good luck. post pics when you're done! yes I will do, currently trying to find a solvent which is strong enough to remove the remaining glue residue and whatever I do here, I will not be taking the door full door panels off with the airbags etc its just too much work
  6. Ok you won't be replacing this carpet its very strongly glued to the plastic. Using solvent it parts from the plastic but its a tough job, the carpet latex matting even came off on one side leaving all the individual tuffs. Just got to decide what to do next leave it smooth black plastic etc, paint it chrome etc ??
  7. thks Sameer, whats under the carpet onthe lower door panel just plastic ?
  8. On reflection I can probably buy and cut the new carpet myself, so just need to know how to remove OEM carpet in door panels please ?
  9. Hello Loren, I want to change the colour of my carpets in my lower main door panels, do I have to take out the whole door panel and what's the procedure please ? Anybody know where I can get some red carpet lower door panel replacements ? Richard
  10. Thks Loren extremely strangely since I removed this the car runs like a hot rod again, lets see how long it lasts, only thing I can think of is that drilling extra holes in my underside decklid was letting too much air into the airbox but not across the MAF, can only wait for CEL to reappear I guess One week on 1.3 BAR boost all day, no CELs, feels like the "tardis" again (so fast its Time Travel) all very strange

  12. Unless you live in a particularly dusty area you can even wash the pre oil off your K&N filter with detergent for even better results
  13. Hello Loren, there are 2 screens pre MAF 1) The metal mesh one to prevent debris going into the engine and 2) the Plastic One which to my undertsanding regulates the air into "sqaures" so that it flows evenly over the MAF. How critical is the plastic screen, I took mine out last night as a trial and the car seems to run even better, obviously the metal mesh will remain, thoughts please ?
  14. Pity though it would look much cooler coming up and down at lower speeds
  15. Zurich, Switzerland Loren which isn't very helpful, maybe I take it for the 40,000 KM service a soon as its getting close
  16. Tiptronic, and I haven't done this before so that may be possible, I 'm just used to the Stradale at 9,000rpm I guess, when is the normal service plug change as maybe I have overdone the plugs with the higher boost/airtake my car is May 2001 as well so will not have the higher heat range as OEM ?, it either that or the fuel pump on the way out I'm sure but probably totally wrong .) In gear my car will go to the redline but misfire in 3rd
  17. Loren couple of more days driving still no CEL but I noticed when the car was fully warmed up that it wouldn't, when stationary in Neutral, REV more than circa 4,0/4,25 RPM which is obviously not normal, Turbo boost is still fine at 1.2/1.3 Bar, anymore thoughts ? Car has done 25K miles
  18. Have now cleaned the MAF put OEM air filter back in and still have a small "misfire" when accelerating hard from rest, does this draw anymore thoughts ? Any codes? Did you disconnect the battery for 5 minutes so the DME can re-learn the intake volume/pressures? Yep did both of those, no codes as yet but am sure that same ones will reappear by next weekend when car is warmed up and on idle stuck at a light or the garage door

  20. I did this with my OEM exhaust, well I took both set of cats out and added 1 set of race version, did a lot for the performance but not much for the sound, check 6speedonline for pics, but we didn't cut out any baffle plates
  21. So I just spray the disconnected MAF with contact cleaner then ?
  22. Loren to do this, do I just extract the MAF and gently clean the MAF wire with a cotton bud dipped in Meths or some similar Alcohol ?
  23. thks Loren if it occurs again (likely) I will first try cleaning the MAF, the engine light usually comes on at the end of a drive when the car is idling before parking ( ie waiting for the auto garage door to open )
  24. ___________________________________________________________ Loren Car runs very smoothly at all engine revs including idle but the battery is near the end of its lifespan. What I do notice when driving around town is that there is a very small lag in accelerator take up at low speeds but I have attributed this to the fact that I have started Left foot braking and having both feet on the pedals at the same time creating this. :drive:
  25. Thks Loren, where and what is my EVAP purge valve, is this something to do with the DV's ? Is it easy to access re sticking or replace ?
