  1. There´s no need to dismantle the quarter panel, or anything...this kind of damage can be repaired easily fro outside, using a spot welder. A very easy fix! The price can vary from $100 to 300$...so get many estimates from good quality bodyshops (many low quality bodyshops just fill the damage with 2 kilos of bodyfiller, without repairing the dent). regards Kare
  2. How can I know if the headlamp unit is a lithronic one in facelift model (MY02-04), without seeing the back connectors? I´ve seen two versions: One that has stripes under the clear headlight cover, and another one which is "plain"... I´d like to buy a set, but as ebay is full of all kind of irresponsible sellers... Thanks Kare
  3. Many thanks This forum is incredibly!!!! The nipple that comes out straight from the solenoid goes to the vacuum reserve tank under the intake on the left side. To test this connection, there should be a vacuum when the engine is running. The other tube coming out of the right angled nipple goes directly to the butterfly valve on the back intake tube. You can test this connection by apply suction to the tube and you will hear the butterfly move. This solenoid is attached to a clip above and behind the alternator.
  4. Hi 996 C2 MY99 I have a loose resonance tube control solenoid, and I don´t know where the two vacuum tubes are connected. One is straight, and the other one has a 180º bent on it. The solenoid is the one which is NOT the gadget which is fixed to the resonance tube, but rather near the throttle body Pls help! Thanks guys Kare
  5. Hi I don´t need a obdII compliant set up, but yes I need to be able to use the car every day. My car is a 1999 996 C2, and I want to install a 3.6 or 3.8 engine. What is the easiest (and right now cheapest) solution? Thanks Kare, Spain
  6. Todd What kind of "piggybag" wiring is needed to get the 3.6 (or 3.8) engine working with 1999 DME? I suppose the main problem is the variocam plus??? I´m not too worried about all the installation being cabable of Porsche PST/WIS diagnosis, but everything should work, except cruise control. How should the old DME be programmed (I mean the fuel maps)? or would it be easier to find a newer version of the DME (7.2 I suppose)? Thanks Kare
  7. I´ve been offered a wheel set from a C4S, I think they are from 2002. So the wheels should fit? And the tire size? Kare
  8. Hi Can I install the 18" x 11" whels on my C2 cabrio from 1999? What are the recommended tire sizes? I want something comfortable... Thanks Kare
  9. Hi Why it´s not possible to put the 3.4 mufflers on a 3.6 liter car? What´s the difference? Kare
  10. I haven´t bought the 2.7 engine yet, but it is in a junkyard. What do you mean with the "same installation process"? What things are needed? Yes, I might sell the 2.5 engine. It runs perfectly, with compression in all cylinders, but was burning oil. No idea why. The mechanics said it might be the valve seal in cylinder number 4, but I decided to make the 3.4 conversion.... and now considering to purchase the 996 cabrio. Make me an offer for the 2.5 engine, if you are interested.... Saludos Kare
  11. yeah, no question. go for a 3.4L replacement! there's no point in going from 2.5 to 2.7. you'd be better off selling your car and buying a 2.7L boxster, IMHO. I got the 3.4 engine already waiting for the installation, but also found a 996 cabrio very, very cheap, so my project is changing completely. As I want to sell the boxter and found this 2.7 engine, again very cheap, the idea would be installing this engine to the boxter and sell the car. So what modifications are needed for the 2.7 one? UUps, forgot to mention that the 996 I found is sold with broken engine...

  13. Hi My 2.5 engine blow out. I found another engine which is for sale, but it´s a 2.7 one. What changes/hardawre are needed to install the 2.7 engine? Thanks Kare
  14. Hi I need to make a special sticker, and tried to search for the fonts Porsche uses. I know they are specially made for them, but does somebody have these "GT3 RS" letters scanned in their computer? Could you please PM it to me? Thanks Kare, Spain
  15. Hi I want to get my oil pressure gauge operative in my 996 instrment cluster. I did a search, and I found out that I have to connect additional wire to the 996 oil pressure sender, but found no information how to do it... What I have to do? Saludos Kare
  16. Hi How can Idiagnosticate the malfunction in the crankcase breather system ?
  17. Don´t use the "normal" paints from hardware stores. They are not intented for plastics and will either peel away, or harm the plastic itself by drying it out. Where are you located? There are many specialized interior repair shops around, who can mix the exacts color for your car, and have paints specially formulated for plastics/leather. Regards Kare
  18. Hi I have my 2000 3.4l engine out and I was wondering to replace (just in case) the intermediate shaft bearing. I took the cover away, but how do I remove the bearing? Thanks Kare
  19. Hi I´m buying a replacement (used) engine. Have found two units. What is the difference between a m96 01 made 1999 and M96 04 made around 2000? The newer engine has more miles on it... and is more expensive. Thanks Kare, Spain
  20. One more... The spoiler looks fantastic! Is your spoiler a standard Cayman one? How much did it cost? And any difficulties on installing it? Kare
  21. Wow, I think it looks great! So, is it aftermarket, or cayman one? How much did it cost? Was it complicated to change? Saludos Kare, Spain
  22. Hi I´m doing the 3.4 conversion for 1998 2.5 boxter. Which flywheel do I have to install, the one from 5-speed manual gearbox, or from the 996 engine? And which clutch kit would be the best, again from 986, or 996? Thanks Kare
  23. Hi This is a part number of intake manifold? Is it egas or not? Will it fit for 3.4 boxter (1998) conversion ? Thanks Kare
  24. I found a 996 DME, part 996 618 605 00. Does this fit for the 3.4 conversion? If I bring it to Porsche dealer to configure the driveblock, it will cost me total about $200, not $1000, apart that there´s nobody in Spain who seems to do the conversion on y standard Boxter DME.
