  1. I just got a quote for same as my alternator is making a little sound and wanted to know how much to replace the unit and get rid of the sound. Due to the location in the engine bay and water cooling, the cost to replace it at my very reliable dealer was $1,315. Needless to say that cost is not a rounding error so replacement of unit for my money requires something more than just a little noise. Just thought I would least let you know what the cost impact would be.
  2. I have had very good luck with the Tekonsha wired-type set up and tow a 6500 pound trailer every other weekend over mountain passes, through bad weather and fairly aggressive terrain. Brake controller and the activated trailer brakes distribute braking effort which results in greater stability and from a financial impact perspective, the reduction in replacement of the fairly expensive brake system components on the Cayenne itself are of substantial benefit.
