  1. Yeah, Alpha and Xetronic got some pretty good HID bi-xenon kits. You have to build a bracket to hang the ballast. You are looking at $1000.00+ with installation. However, you may also try to look for the genuine bi-xenon headlights. Like new ready-to-install parts are of the similar cost as the HID kits, but you may save a little bit on installation. Check eBay out.
  2. I think you are looking for this: http://parkplaceporsche.store.yahoo.com/porsunshiel.html
  3. Neutral (N) actually wastes more fuel. As doing down hill on a ramp, N wastes gas too. The engine is designed to automatically adjust its mode to save fuel depending on the driving condition, but the engine loses communication with the gearbox to determine such a condition while in N gear.

  5. Wondering why he wouldn't bring it to a Porsche dealer.
  6. Actually my dealer told me to get them fixed in some other tire shops. Right now, I just clean them by the wheel care kit.
  7. OK, I left out the black T bra and the side mirror bras. I also put a custom metallic logo on the gas door.
  8. You may upload them to Imagestation.com. If you don't mind, you may email them to me, and I will give you all the URL's. Besides the V1 hard wiring, I also installed the protection moldings which were painted in black, replaced the black/white wheel centers with the colored ones, installed the rear mud flaps, replaced the black Cayenne logo on the back with a silver carbon fiber logo, replace the stock stem valve caps with those having colored logos, replace the plastic license plate frames from the dealer with chrome frames with Porsche and Cayenne letterings on each, cut and installed metallic vinyl with PORSCHE lettering right below the center brake light, and did a gold pinstrip around the body.
  9. I just hardwired it to Homelink. V1 doesn't really need much of amp, so I think it is safe. Wiring through the fuse panel sounds like a big project for me. Anyway, did you take any pic during the mod? It must be great if you can share with us. :-) You are very welcome and thank you for the business! ^_^
  10. Hey Steve, I am glad that everything went so smoothly with the PCM2. ^_^ BTW, I remember I saw an article here with the instructions to hardwire V1 detector to Homelink. Do you have a link to that? Thx a million! OK, I got it myself! Thx anyway!
  11. I am chatting with a friend about the V8 versions of Cayenne. She claimed that one of her friends had mentioned to her that when driving at certain speed, the on board computer would shut off 4 of the cylinders to save some fuel. Is it true? By the way, the route I travel has a daily traffic jam. I only get 13.7MPG for my Cayenne v6. Is it normal? Thanks for any comment!!
  12. I've seen someone posted pictures of their Cayenne with an Alpine flip-up unit installed, but I haven't heard of any news on the Pioneer thingy. I called an audio shop today and was told that the audio system in Cayenne has to be majorly modified to be made compatible with AVIC-N2. So here comes with my questions. Is it necessary to crack it like that? How did you guys deal with it? As some of you who visited the For Sale forum may have seen that I am selling my PCM2. It is not 2.1, so it only has one CD drive, and none of the PCM's has a touch screen. Do you think it's worth to install it instead of the flip-up's? Thanks for your comments.
  13. oh WoW, I am a sign guy too, LOL! Please check out my website for my portfolio: http://www.quadrofx.com. Let me say hi to your son, thanks!
  14. Yet, another transmission "problem"... Sometimes, after I back the Cayenne with Tiptronic up for about 20 feet, it starts from D1 instead of D2. Again, this happens occasionally and seems rarer recently. Is it some kind of "break-in" illness? BTW, my Cayenne has only 1600 miles on it, but the display keeps on telling me to have a service done @ 2600 miles. I did let the engine rotate close to or over 4200RPM once a while when I use Tiptronic. Is that a serious problem? Do I need an Oil Change right after the break-in period? Another question, what do the dealers do in terms of "service"? Not just a simple oil-change, right?
  15. I experience a different problem with my 1-month old Cayenne. Well, maybe I shouldn't say "problem" as I don't know if this is, indeed, a "characteristic" of the vehicle too. This has something to do with the traction or transmission, I guess. After I accelerate it to, let's say, 40 MPH, and release the paddle. I sometimes feel like it has a strong resistant force from the front. You can have the same feeling when you lug from the 4th gear to the 3rd at 40MPH and above 3000RPM of engine rotation. This happens 50% of the time, so I am curious if anyone else has the same kind of experience, and if this is normal.
