Thanks Loren but this is motor removal, not the wiper mechanism from the glass lid (unique to the targa). I've heard from another forum website that it cannot be removed - i.e. the whole rear glass window needs replacing - which seems totally bonkers to me. I'll just keep on squirting the WD40 on it and hope it doesn't sieze for good. If you have any further info that you come across i'd be interested. Cheers

Hi Loren The wiper is integral to the rear window glass lid and locates with a spring-loaded spiggot into the motor mechanism which is as you mention in the panel under the window. The trick I'm trying to do is remove the wiper from the glass window. I cannot fin any manuals on the net that show the targa rear windown and wiper mechanism. Cheers

Does anyone know how to remove the rear wiper from the targa rear window?? My wiper is very stiff and could do with removing and soaking in a bathof WD40. cheers

I have the same issue with the reverse lights only intermittant working and reverse parking sensors not working. Mines a 02 996 Tiptronic - assume it's the faulty reverse sensor on top of the transmission too? cheets
