  1. When I swapped pads out for my first track event with the car, I left them off using Pagid Orange race pads. When I went back to stock pads I did not use them and have never looked back. You don't need them and they are a PITA. I have not noticed that much extra noise without them. I am totally happy wiithout them. I also cut my sensor wires at the connector and soddered the two wires together and plugged the connector back in. So I don't ever have to mess with those stupid wear sensors. You can see how much pad material easily looking thru the wheels. Since I will be switching from race pads to stock pads often, I felt it necessary to get rid of the noise dampers and wear sensors. I am very happy without them.
  2. I got these tires in December of last year and I love these tires. Probably the best all around tire I have had. They are quiet and have a nice ride. Not to harsh but smooth. They handle in the dry, more than adequate for street use. Turn in is sharp and the sidewalls are firm enough for me. They are really good in the wet. I got caught in pooring down rain for two hours from Savannah, GA to Columbia, SC and they were confidence inspiring. Excellent. In the cold (30's) they are fine, but loose some grip and they are not a winter tire. I would not try them in snow, because that is not what they are designed for. I can't say enough good about them. If they sit for awhile not using the car, they take a few miles for the flat spots to go a way. But that happens to most all high performance tires from my observation. They perform excellently, great ride, looks great and a cheaper tire than some others. OBTW, yes they are american Goodyears, but they are made in Germany. :P I don't know how these would be on the track. I suspect they would be fine, but may just loose a little compared to the PS2's. That is fine by me, because these will be cheaper to replace and the GS-D3 has a longer tire life rating than the PS2. If the track is wet, I will use these. I have a separate set of track wheels with Hoosier R3S05's. Now that is a great handling tire for the track. Lot's of grip.
  3. I agree with reefish. I have the Goodyear F1 Eagle GS-D3 as well and I can't say enough good about them. They are smooth and quiet and are awesome in the rain. They are perfectly good handling in the dry as well. Probably just a small notch down from the PS2's. They are a whole lot cheaper though. All in all I am very happy with them. C&D rated them the best in a recent tire test. The test was pretty detailed and informative. I think it was the recent December issue. Good luck in your choice. Brad
