I would say the needle was at 100

Outside temp was arround 95 . The temp gauge needle went very close to the red mark

It was on yes but when temp got up like crazy i switched off and change to heating. I remember thats cooling down a bit

I found onother troublemaker . Jesus what a car.

Secondary radiator fan doesnt start. Germany now very hot and i was in a traffic jam today. Temp gauge is climbing and climbing. I open the hood. Nothing. What i hear and see, only one fan is running.

Checked the fuses at home. Everything fine. Any idea how to make a quick check what it can be?

Wanted to say that the problem is solved.

Car i back since yesterday. With a new second alternator and .... IT WORKS!

They made a test and i was driving now arround for some time. doesnt matter which rpm, the meter never goes under 13,3 and the high is arround 13,80

I hope this is some way ususal for this engine.

The original Alternator which was in the car (the pictures i posted) went to Bosch. They wrote me today. Part is ready to install. Indead it was faulty. They changed everything inside + new regulator.

Now next try. I hope and pray

Did you check youtube videos for similar noises? There are some files with Cayenne engine noises. Some serious, some not. Best solution, try to make your own video and post the link here

I am already dreaming from batteries and alternators. Makes me crazy:-)

Tomorrow the alternator will go back and hopefully in some days i will have a new one. Anf than pray that this problem is fixed.

I thought this regulator is a plug and play part.

But as i see it must be fixed with a soldering bolt.

The pictures are showing the original alternator which they took out 2 weeks ago. Its the OEM part from the car which was running there for the last years.

Now i have a remodeld inside which is not working proper too as i described. It was reman by BOSCH according my information. If you look for a alternator for a Cayenne here in Germany, you can find Delphi, Hitachi and Bosch.

I wanted to have a look inside to the old one but i dont

Does anybody have a picture of a regulator or better a diagramm where this part is sitting.

Maybe the Porsche boys used the old regulator in the new alternator to save some money.

Mmmmmmm. The old alternator i have here. Is the regulator a external part or is it inside the alternator?

Yes yes and more and more i believe its JFP' s guess: it may not be the alternator it is maybe only the regulator. A broken alternator should not have that much output at higher rpms

Got the car back from specialist. Checked everything. Result : new alternator or regulater is not working properly. Definitely !!

The shop did a check on many things. Difficult for me to translate this special terms. Just the numbers are maybe interesting for somebody:

Loading power at rpm 700: zero

Power drain from battery at rpm 700: 50A

Loading power at rpm 1500: 80A

Carging power Battery: 20 A

The only solution is, back to the porsche shop who did the job. They are responsible for this alternator. They have to get a new one and have it tested in some way before they install it again
