  1. Is anyone aware of any software upgrades to the PCM unit. Have a 23 Boxster GTS 4.0 and the menus differ from the owners manual. Thanks, JC
  2. Thanks again to all for the advice. I will sleep better now. Cheers.
  3. Thanks for the replies. Put the charger on yesterday around 1pm. While desulphating it got to 155 deg f and basically took all day to get to 80%. Seemed to get slightly less warm as the day went on. This morning fully charged green light was on and the temperature was normal. All lights were normal during the entire process but makes me nervous to leave the car plugged in when no one is home.
  4. New GTS 4.0 last month. Bought Charge o Mat pro to keep battery maintained. Once connected the temperature of the device gets to around 150 degrees F. Anyone know if this is normal or do I potentially have a bad unit?
  5. Just sold my 2000 S which had a B & M short shifter. Loved it. Today got an 09 S and the throws are much longer. Looked at B & M and on the site, but no reference I can find for a 09 short shifter. Any ideas? Thanks, JC
  6. I bought the EZ Top Hoist for my Boxster. The install was a little mre work than I anticipated but it works as advertised, without any problems. I bought the electric hoist with the multipoint attachment system. Just make sure that you have a handle on where your studs are in the ceiling and walls, and that you have a few hours to spend.
  7. I installed a B & M short shifter in my 2000 Boxster S over the weekend. The shifter travel from 1st to 2nd is reduced from 4.5 inches to 3 inches. Install is reasonably as per the instructions. Shifter feels very solid but takes more effort. Getting into reverse is much more difficult. Anyone have any ideas why? Thanks, JC
  8. Thanks, came right off and didn't break my nose! JC
  9. I have a 2000 S. Bought the B & M shifter kit, I have the boot pulled up, but can't find the set screw to remove the shift knob. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks, JC
  10. I have a 200 Boxster S. I note that the 06 claims 280 hp and more torque from the same motor. Anyone know how they did that? Can it be done on a 2000? Thanks, JC
  11. I have a 2000 Boxster S. While on a 1 hour freeway trip I noticed the top opening light coming on at freeway speeds. When I arrived at my destination, the top would not go up. The next morning (thankfully it did not rain) I was able to put the top up normally. I drove about 20 miles and after breakfast, the top would not go down. I got back home and took the car to the dealer. They could not duplicate the problem and did not want to change any of the relays or switches without knowing what the problem was. The car came home. Several days later I got in the car, lowered the top and went for a ride. When I got to my destination, the top would not go up. Several days later the top went up. When I tried several minutes later, the top would not go down. I noticed over the next several days that if I operated the top before I started the engine, it would work. After I started the engine, it would not operate again. I read numerous posts on this web site, and used the Micro Switch Trouble Shooting Guide posted by Ron Bonner. After numerous readings that were the way they should be, I concluded that it was the Control Relay. I purchased the relay today (PN 986.618.199.00) for $$82.50, went home, plugged it in and the top now works fine. By the way, my old relay had no black dot on the back, the new one does. Thanks to everyone who posted info on top problems, it helped me solve my problem. JC
