  1. Can anyone recommend someone in the NY area that can rebuild & modify a 2002 3.6 liter motor. Someone that is not going to charge me the price of a new 991....... Thanks, Wayne
  2. I plan on using MOTEC as engine managment. I wouild like to know if there is anything mechanical that would stop me from bolting this engine to my 996 transmission or any different bolt paterns? I came extremely close to attempting this. Thankfully, I read this and other forums that made it clear that was the wrong way for me to go. Seems like the greatest challenge is the vario, with the wiring being different, different computer issues and so on. I ended up spending more for a 3.4 so I will have an easy swap. I have 2 engines and may have one for sale.
  3. Hello, Does anyone know If a 997 3.8 engine will fit into a 2000 996? I know the wiring is completely different(I am using MOTEC) but is there anything else that might hinder this project? Any help before I purchase the engine will be greatly appriciated, Thanks......
  4. Thanks Paul, that's what I am looking for here on the East Coast..........Any recommendations will be helpful......
  5. I just purchased a 997 3.8 motor and I am looking to change pistons and rods. I would also like to have some porting and polishing done. Does anyone know of a reputable shop in the North East that can do this work without draining my bank account?
  6. Thanks, I am still waiting to see if anyone used these adjustable rear links or used something different.
  7. Yes I did, but I am sure that they were not able to get close to spec due to the limited adjustment of the factory suspension.
  8. I have a lowered 996 C2 Cabriolet with a Bilistein PSS 9 suspension. I destroyed a perfectly good set of tires within 2,500 miles. Does anyone have any suggestions on which direction I should go in to correct this issue. Many of the sites I visit have adjustable rear lower arms and adjustable rear links.
  9. Hello, I am interested in changing my 996 3.4 to a 3.6 or 3.8 but I am being told that there is wiring issues. Would it be economical just to get another 3.4 motor and have it sleeved and bored to 3.8 saving the wiring headache or the wiring issues with the 3.6 and 3.8 are not that serious? If anyone went through this help and advise would greatly be appreciated.
  10. I have a 2000 996 carrera C2 that I am thinking of installing either the TCP Racing supercharger kit with the Eaton blower or the VR Engineering kit with the Vortech. Does anyone know which direction I should lean towards?
