  1. Hello, I'm pretty sure I know the answer to this question, but wanted to throw it out just in case I'm missing something. I bought 2 new key fobs for my '01 Boxster in February & had them programmed by the dealer. They both worked fine & 1 has been my spare, hanging in the key cabinet. Last weekend I grabbed that key to for a quick drive & the remote would not lock or unlock the car. Changed the battery, no change. Tried the key I always use & it;s fine. The LED on the spare doesn;t light when you press any button. Dead remote, right?
  2. Hello, My 2001 Boxster does not have a sticker on the front lid. Either scraped off or hood replaced. is there a way to get the options from the factory just by the VIN number?
  3. Thanks gentlemen, I will contact Durametric on the mileage issue. I figured the OBC thing might have something to do with a switch being connected, but wanted to make sure before I went through the time to install it.
  4. Hello, I just received my Durametric kit for my 2001 Boxster & have a couple of questions: 1) The car shows 117k on th odometer but Durametric is telling me about 18K, it was about 16k yesterday. Is this an anomoly? 2) I selected activate the OBC but don't get the outdoor temp indication on the gauge. Durametric tells me the OBC is activated. Any ideas?
  5. That makes sense since it was in the mid 70's here yesterday & my commute is about 17 miles almost half is a pretty wininding road. It did get worse as I got closer to home.
  6. Hi all, My 2001 Boxster started a strange noise in the front suspension today. Kind of a creaking sound when the front end is compressed. I haven't had a chance to really start checking it out, but I thouight I would see if anyone had an idea on where to start.
  7. I agree & share the same sympathy to the Porsche family. I have loved these cars since I was since I was a very young boy. My last big adventure with my dad was restoring a '66 911. Best days of my life.
  8. Hi Everyone, I have read that boxsters have a negative camber on th rear wheels. Is this true & is it something that can be seen visually? I can see the tops of my rear wheels tilt inwards.
  9. Thanks! Did a search & it looks like there are 2 in Lincoln & a few in Rocklin.
  10. Hi Everyone, My '01 boxster gets a slight steering wheel wiggle at about 75-80 mph. I'm thinking the wheels need to be balanced. Does anyone have a recommendation for a place to have this done in the Lincoln/Rocklin/roseville area? thanks
  11. Hi everyone, I just bought my 2001 Boxster in February & love it! but it does need a new top. Everything seems to work fine mechanically but the fabric is bad & the rear window leaks. Thinking I can do this as a DIY project but would like opinions on the Robbins or GAAH tops. I plan on staying with the plastic window for originilaty sake. any input from the group would be very much appreciated. Bryan
