  2. Hi all, Ive got a fault with the electric parking brake on my 2005 cayenne s 3.2 automatic. The pull switch for the parking brake appears to do nothing, Ive had the problem a while, so have avoided using it. The mot is due in may and so i have found sometime to sort it out, along with a few other issues ive sorted already. A few days ago i went to fuel the beast up and pulled the brake switch, sods law - activated to engage. however there was little to no reistance when i drove off with it still on, it wouldnt deactivate off the switch. After a few miles however, it did release and the dash warning went out (along with the constant audiable noise) and has not come on again since. ive not pulled the switch again for fear of it engaging but not releasing again. has any one had similar problems? Is it likely its just the switch or is it something in the calipers like a solinoid fault or whatever they call them these days? Thanks for any hints or pointers in advance. :)
  3. Hi all... While, looking behind the boot panels and cubbyholes above the rear wheel arches on my cayenne i stumbled across this connector block not attached to anything. Its located just on the right as you face into the boot. UK 06 plate, S It has three pins, which with a basic bulb tester seem to be; 1 remote live off the pcm2 head unit or maybe off the ignition ( I just thought of but haven't checked), 1 constant live and 1 ground. the other positions in the connector block are not occupied. Im thinking it might be for a CD changer that the previous owner may have removed or maybe the car never came with but the wiring is all there for it. First question, is that correct or does anyone know differently? Anyway - the reason I'm interested in this is as i dont have a bose speaker/sub package and I want to fit an old mono block amp for a sub and a power cap. So i am looking for a remote, ground and live to power it. I dont think the live will be able to handle the current so i will run that from the battery. Having read the site a little, I think I understand correctly that, if i have the bose system, i cant use an aftermarket amp with the pcm, due to the MOST fiber optic... but if the speakers all run off the pcm I can tap into a line out at the headunit to run audio feed to the amp. Second question is...that correct and do i need a high to low or backwards convertor for the audio running to the amp. Here are a couple of photos of the connector in the boot...
