  1. I guess they must be even though they don't look like it. If I try and tighten the cap as tight as it will go, it just slips and loosens again. New tank is in my future. thanks for the help Ahsai
  2. genuine tank from Pelican Parts. I don't think its ever been cross threaded. Ive only taken it off and on a couple times. The price of a new tank is so high for what it is, and its a pain to get in and out. I guess i'm outta luck?
  3. I put in a new coolant tank about 2-3 years ago, due to the original one leaking. I replaced the cap with a band new one and all has been fine. Lately the cap has been coming loose as the engine heats up and coolant bubbles out of it and smokes like crazy. I bought a brand new cap, tightened it up before I left for work today, and as I got back in my car to leave, the cap was completely loose. I drove it for about 15 minutes and the cap was loose again. Faulty threads on the tank? 2000 C2 Cab
  4. Hey Stretch, yes I did figure it out. It is a vacuum line to the vacuum reservoir. with the alternator out, you can see the reservoir and the mounting screw that holds it in. If you take out that screw, you can pull it towards you and reach the connectors. I can send you a diagram that someone sent to me on another forum to your inbox if you'd like.
  5. Hi everyone. I was replacing my oil filler tube on my 2000 996 cab, and I broke one of these hard plastic lines off of a 3 way split. I went to see where is was connected and the whole line came out in my hand. can anyone identify what this part is, where it goes, and any part numbers to fix them? thanks so much in advance!
  6. I've got the dectane LED tail lights on my 2000 cab. I've had them for about 9 or 10 months and they've worked beautifully. Yesterday, I realized that the white reverse light doesn't come on on the drivers side. I'm not very well versed in electrical issues, so I thought I would ask for some advice from any of you as to what the problem might be. Thanks in advance
  7. I have a 2000 silver C2 Cab. The top is physically in good shape, but its faded and doesn't look so great (It's light grey). Does anyone know if it's even possible, or where I could find some info on how to do it, or who to use? If I was replacing it, I would do a black top, but I just can't justify the cost due to the good physical condition the existing top is in. Am I crazy to even consider this? Thanks in advance for any insights.....
  8. Just over the last couple of days, I've notice my front suspension is a bit squeaky. I noticed it when I was driving in an enclosed parking garage, I hit a dip and you can hear the whole car squeak. It's not terribly hi-pitched, and if I manually push the car up and down with sitting still, I don't hear anything. Im not well versed in the mechanics of the car, but any insight would be appreciated. 2000 Cab. thanks!
  9. Hi, Im looking for a great honest mechanic for my 2000 carrera cab on or near the west side of LA. Any recommendations would be appreciated. Thanks
