Hi all, 99tt 01' JIC suspension, dropped. H&R sway front and rear. The DL are stock. I had popped my hard plastic tube between turbo inlet and aluminum air tube. Ok, so I had a mechanic swap out flywheel and clutch, as it was time. And I installed torque solution motor mounts, that's the only thing I did last 2 weeks. So when I discovered the popped tube, I reinstalled and notice that the driver side DL is rubbing against the aluminum air tube, rubbing some away in fact. I assume cornering I must of popped out tube. I looked at both sides, passenger link has about 2" clearance, and trouble driver side literally sits right next to pipe. I can't figure it out, the sway bar can't be off, as the mounts have ridges in them, so it's centered?? My car drives straight as arrow. Any ideas why DL on one side clears by alot, and the other rubs? I def don't want to drive in this condition, and rub hole aluminum air tube, or worse break a chunk off and get sucked into my k24.
I was blown away someone would" fix" the broken nipple thi way....I was able to crazy glue nipple back on, and attach vent hose properly....I ordered the sender from pelican, comes wed. I know the bonding glue won't hold up to fuel vapor, but I am hoping it can last till we'd. I read the DIY, actually I was checking out my fuel pump, and in process saw the hack job.
I dont think that is quite right???? look at pic, there is a pressurized line out, and a return, then a vent line(the hack job that has what looks like mollasis all over it, but is gasoline stained silicone.). I thought fuel vapors vent out of this line? and when engine reaches operating temp, a vacuum is valve opens, and pulls vapors back into engine??
Discovered my fuel sender tank vent line was rigged w/ gasket make as 1 of the last 2owners before me(not Alan, he doesnt wrench) snapped the nipple off in the connection. The gasket maker was dissolving and literally loose, evidenced by dried fuel on top....is this line under vacum?
I am on my iPad and can't upload pic of part. But it's the cap to the top of fuel tank, that has 3 nipples, hi pressure out, return and 3rd I assume is EVAP related, and harness plug. The EVAP nipple is broken off! Anyone have a part# TIA
