About Me

Hello smile.gif ,

My name is Alfred and I live in Belgium in a small village between Antwerp and Brussels.

I worked for GM as an engineer for about 35 years and I have reitred since 2008.

My first car (when I was 18 years old) was a VW Beetle 1303 which was the first 1303 model being delivered in Belgium in 1972, one year before I started my career at GM.

I kept this car in mint and original condition for about 16 years and I won several prices with it at one of the biggest VW-aircooled meetings namely VW-Action in England in the 80's till the late 90's. I sold this car in 1990 with 160000km on the odometer and at that time it still had it first clutch which did not even slip !

In november 1979 I could buy the last officially imported VW1303 Convertible in Belgium. This car is still in genuine state as it left the factory. It has now run 66000km and is even after 32 years still in mint condition. The car never had an accident and still has its original paintwork and convertible roof, even the wipers and the shocks are still original and the car is also mechanically in perfect condition.

In 2004 I bought my modelyear 1999 Boxster 2.5L for my 50th anniversary. This car has now 76000km and is also in very good condition and it leaves my garage only when the weather is fine.

Maintenance and repairs are done by myself since I have automotive experience which I gathered during my automotive career.
