  1. Dear all, I just got myself my first Porsche 2 months ago as per link >> () I got this low mileage car with only 6600km which i was very happy with. 2 months of owning the car and at mileage 9000+km, the intake valve at the cylinder 5 was bent from the tappet failure as per photo attached. The last service from the service center is in April, 2012. I am so sad that what had happened on this low mileage engine. The car has been all the time under full service of Porsche Malaysia eventhough the mileage is low. The car has been sent to Porsche Malaysia for service every year by the previous owner even the mileage is not even reached for service. The car is towed back to my mechanic right now but not Porsche Malaysia. My mechanic suspect that the valve was bent due to tappet is jammed and causing the piston hitting the valve and punctured a hole on the tappet and further damaged the intake camshaft. Please see the other two photos attached. From what the 3 photos showns, I probably need a new intake camshaft for cyl 4-6, new valve and valve seal, new tappet and head gasket. BUT I think this engine should NOT failed at this kind of mileage. Now the question are: 1. Does this car qualify to claim under warranty even this car is 2006? 2. Would this fall under manufacturer defect? 3. Where should I complain to? Anyone has email that i can send email to Porsche Germany? I would probably go to Porsche Malaysia tomorrow to tell them this problem. I am not a happy Porsche owner at this moment, I hope some members here can give me some advise on the next move. Thanks in advance. BR, Heng
  2. I don't know if this is the right place for me to say hi to everyone. I am getting myself my first Porsche in my life. It is a year 2006 Boxster 2.7 with chasis number WP0ZZZ98Z6U702475 and engine number M96/2561605079. The car is in maroon color with beige interior and it has original hardtop and its rack. The car has only 6600km from its 6 years old life. My question as a newbie is what do I need to worry on such a low mileage car. The car has been maintain by Porsche service center here. From the engine number it seems like it has the new deisgn RMS? Would the IMS problem affect such a low mileage car? Can I also know what are the options does the car have? Is there anywhere on the car I can look? The only things that the car doesn't have is xenon lights. Attached are some of the photos of the car.
