  1. In defense of the installer (me) I would have to say, don't think so. But I cannot truely deny it, but it is not necessary to mess with the spring to remove the panel. I guess it just gave? Odd, yes, but I did not mess with it. But I appreciate the thought, I'll take it up with myself later if something else goes wrong?!?! Here's the pic of the culprit. So if youu should here a tink noise when opening the door and the handle goes limp you'll know the problem.
  2. Hmmm I guess I'll have to go ahead and tear into it as it leaves the interior lights on when I close the door. It's thinking that it is beling pulled from the inside as the little window actuator lever ishot when the handle is pulled. It sucks as I just got the car put back together from stereo install and Optima Battery install :(
  3. Hi, I just got out of my car and when I pulled the interior handle I heard tink from within the door and now the handle doesn't spring back into place? Someone had this happen before? Any help appreciated.
  4. They do make a noticeable difference, and if they are original HID's then they are focused and they would only blind oncoming traffic when your vehicle is at the right angle, ie you are on a flat road and they are coming toward you up a slight incline. They are much more intense at this point as the are focused, but most people complain about retro fitted vehicles that are not properly aligned or when someone buys an HID kit, like the ones all over eBay where the light simply replaces your H7 (for example) bulb and the light is not contained in a focused beam. Thus making them like off road lights. Oh and the best part is when they put them in their fog lights, oh yeah, can you say BLIND! P.S. when you find out please post what it takes to do it. Thanks
  5. Hi thanks for the input I do have a Q though what's the deal with having the heated washers? Maybe that is why they were disconnected.
  6. Hi, thanks for the assurance. I would have to say that they are pretty normal then. I guess it must have something to do with the size of the rear tires then? Hmmm
  7. Hi well it has the full power memory seats, I just did not know if it has the heated option? It has the full carbon and full leather interior, I was wondering if maybe the previous owner had replaced the batwing and did not connect the heated seats back, as the car was dealer owned in Pompano beach. I have been running across little oddities, like missing screws, and unconnected wires like the washer nozzle heaters. I do at this point know that this car previously had a full stereo upgrade, and K-40 that have been removed. Hmm, guess I'll have to find the schematics somewhere to see what wires I should find. Thanks. [\quote] the top two behind the battery are the heaters for the washer jet nozzles, bottom left is the phone connector, bottom right I don't know the washer jets have to be unplugged to remove the cowl, other than that I can't think of a reason for them to be off, the phone is only plugged in if you have the phone option Big thanks on the ID, I would be willing to bet that the phone option was once in this car. The ordered price was $97k, for this 99' C2. Ouch, I however got it for a much more acceptable amount, but it does leave me guessing sometimes.
  8. Oops sorry maybe thats what mine is called too? any ways here is some pics to further help. It looks like it is a factory setup. I cannot locate the part in the schematic either? P.S. excuse the dirt it's been underconstruction for the past week and a half :(
  9. exactly like yours, I believe, Aerokit II, 99 C2 Coupe, all factory. :D
  10. Picked up I believe all the screws for the front bumper cover as there were a few missing, but there are 2 T shaped metal brackets at the bottom edge and I do not know how they are incorporated and the PET diagram I have doesn't show it? TIA
  11. In the center console: 4 wire connector, under the drivers seat, three connectors is one of these for heated seats?, in the battery cowl 2 two wire connectors what are these for?
  12. I will try this I put the driver window all the way down so I could close the door. I sure would like to know how or where you amassed all the knowledge about these from! Thanks again
  13. Just finished installing an Optima 34R and when I reconnected it I got no response from any electrical. So I put the key in the ignition figuring it was some kind of anti-theft, well it did the trick except for the auto window features? ie when you open the door the window recesses to clear the upper wind guard, and the one touch feature is not working. I have checked all the appropriate fuses and they are good. Any insight is greatly appreciated
  14. Well draw backs in the stereo have kept me from learning the reason. I'll post the findings when I get a chance to get to it.
  15. Hi, checking into why it seems too hard to take off during normal driving, and well it is diffucult to get the rotor turning with two fingers, but once it is moving it seems to move pretty freely? The rotor doesn't have any heat spots and the frictions surface is normal. Any insight greatly appreciated. TIA
  16. Well Tommorow I may very well pull the front carpet out of the car and attempt to dry it. I also plan to get a vinyl fishing tape and hit up the drain tubes as I think I spotted them today. I spoke with a guy at Imagine Auto here in KC. He said it is extremely odd to hear about the situation with the door carpet getting wet but not the inside of the door? and as for the foam but not the carpet on the floor he recommended that I check the plugs on the bottome of the car? Haven't had a chance to check yet, but it has not rained this week and prolly not for the next week (fingers crossed) I hope to catch it in the act with a little temptation from a garden hose. I'll post the findings incase anyone else should come across these odd happenings. Oh and to hit on some of the notes here. There was nothing spilled, ( I waxed this car 4 times the first week I owned it), I haven't been near enough rain nor standing in it with any door or window open to allow it to get like that by far. But as I recollect I do remember that when I roll the window down outside air comes from the door speaker cover??? I wondering if there is some kind of connection there? I better leave this up so I don't forget it by morning.
  17. Hi, sounds like a really good idea, but I just wanted to add to the system not really modify it. So I left everything absolutely stock, and used a Scosche line converter and ran it off the rear speaker terminals. The main reason for this is I did not want to play with the factory wiring. If I should decide to upgrade the plastic speakers?!? (light wieght gone toooooo far) I might decide to go that route. Again Thanks
  18. Hi after tearing out the interior to install stereo items I found the floorboards to be wet but the the carpet on top?? I would like to know if anyone has experienced this before?? I am going to attempt to check the drain lines pointed out by many not reall sure how I going to do it at this point but I am think of fishing it and testing. Please if anyone has dealt with this give me an idea of where to go with it. I would hate to go thorough all this only to put it all back together and find it wasn't the entire issue. TIA
  19. I'm feeling pretty stupid, but it looks like C6 is the remote Yea, I'm thinking the same thing I just hope it is not like some of the car systems out there where the power is only there fo like twenty seconds to raise the antenna. I'll find out today.
  20. Thanks for the diagram, I used the one in the manual, I'll let you know if I run into any useful info.
  21. That was just the ticket! I have worked car stereo for many years, and just knowing the kind of receptacle, gave me all I needed to make it happen! Big Thanks! MacGyver
  22. I am ready to put my interior back in the car with the new speakers but I do not have the reomte wire connected to the radio. I was able to locate which connection to use from a diagram but I do not have the tool nor know what it looks like. If I knew what it looked like I could make it happen. TIA
  23. Hi anyone ever found a way to remote a amplifier from this head unit? TIA O.K. Any idea on how to get the head unit out? Pretty sure I have found the one to use but I do not have any removal tools to get the unit out. Any at home cheats on how to get it out? Currently the only thing left in the interior is the shifter and dash, so taking it to the dealer is not really an option in the immediate future.
  24. Hi, that is a great idea! After removing my seats with a 10mm socket and a T20 driver, in 5 minutes, I would have to say you would effectively add atleast 10hp, as these together weigh about as much as an average passenger!?! Good Luck with the AB light. My car pretty much looks ready to go to the track at the moment the only thing in there is the front carpet and the dash. Doing a little sound proofing. :D
  25. O.K. I give has anyone done this themselves? I have the seats out putting in my sub system and wel I found that the botom of the carpet foan is moist. so if I am going to have the car this far aprt I want to go ahead and do the water lines. So please any pointers would be greatly appreciated. TIA
