  1. Do they really make a worthwhile difference in what you can see,

    or just blind oncoming drivers?

They do make a noticeable difference, and if they are original HID's then they are focused and they would only blind oncoming traffic when your vehicle is at the right angle, ie you are on a flat road and they are coming toward you up a slight incline. They are much more intense at this point as the are focused, but most people complain about retro fitted vehicles that are not properly aligned or when someone buys an HID kit, like the ones all over eBay where the light simply replaces your H7 (for example) bulb and the light is not contained in a focused beam. Thus making them like off road lights. Oh and the best part is when they put them in their fog lights, oh yeah, can you say BLIND!

P.S. when you find out please post what it takes to do it. Thanks

  2. does your car have power memory seats? That is what the extra connectors under the seat are for. I find it strange that they are actually there. The wiring harnesses for each car is supposed to be custom made for that car, its country, and options. I wonder if the car had power/heated seats at one time and they were swapped out for the current seats.

    What year is the car?

Hi well it has the full power memory seats, I just did not know if it has the heated option? It has the full carbon and full leather interior, I was wondering if maybe the previous owner had replaced the batwing and did not connect the heated seats back, as the car was dealer owned in Pompano beach. I have been running across little oddities, like missing screws, and unconnected wires like the washer nozzle heaters. I do at this point know that this car previously had a full stereo upgrade, and K-40 that have been removed. Hmm, guess I'll have to find the schematics somewhere to see what wires I should find. Thanks.

the top two behind the battery are the heaters for the washer jet nozzles, bottom left is the phone connector, bottom right I don't know

the washer jets have to be unplugged to remove the cowl, other than that I can't think of a reason for them to be off, the phone is only plugged in if you have the phone option

Big thanks on the ID, I would be willing to bet that the phone option was once in this car. The ordered price was $97k, for this 99' C2. Ouch, I however got it for a much more acceptable amount, but it does leave me guessing sometimes.

  3. Just finished installing an Optima 34R and when I reconnected it I got no response from any electrical. So I put the key in the ignition figuring it was some kind of anti-theft, well it did the trick except for the auto window features? ie when you open the door the window recesses to clear the upper wind guard, and the one touch feature is not working. I have checked all the appropriate fuses and they are good. Any insight is greatly appreciated

  4. Well Tommorow I may very well pull the front carpet out of the car and attempt to dry it. I also plan to get a vinyl fishing tape and hit up the drain tubes as I think I spotted them today. I spoke with a guy at Imagine Auto here in KC. He said it is extremely odd to hear about the situation with the door carpet getting wet but not the inside of the door? and as for the foam but not the carpet on the floor he recommended that I check the plugs on the bottome of the car? Haven't had a chance to check yet, but it has not rained this week and prolly not for the next week (fingers crossed) I hope to catch it in the act with a little temptation from a garden hose. I'll post the findings incase anyone else should come across these odd happenings.

Oh and to hit on some of the notes here. There was nothing spilled, ( I waxed this car 4 times the first week I owned it), I haven't been near enough rain nor standing in it with any door or window open to allow it to get like that by far. But as I recollect I do remember that when I roll the window down outside air comes from the door speaker cover??? I wondering if there is some kind of connection there? I better leave this up so I don't forget it by morning.

  5. If you are going to a new amp you will probably want to use the low power outputs on the Becker 220 CDR. Becker sells an adaptor for the low poer output with RCA jacks and a wire for the amplifier control. I bought one a few months ago for adding my JL Audio amp.

Hi, sounds like a really good idea, but I just wanted to add to the system not really modify it. So I left everything absolutely stock, and used a Scosche line converter and ran it off the rear speaker terminals. The main reason for this is I did not want to play with the factory wiring. If I should decide to upgrade the plastic speakers?!? (light wieght gone toooooo far) I might decide to go that route. Again Thanks

  6. Hi after tearing out the interior to install stereo items I found the floorboards to be wet but the the carpet on top?? I would like to know if anyone has experienced this before?? I am going to attempt to check the drain lines pointed out by many not reall sure how I going to do it at this point but I am think of fishing it and testing. Please if anyone has dealt with this give me an idea of where to go with it. I would hate to go thorough all this only to put it all back together and find it wasn't the entire issue. TIA

  7. Hi anyone ever found a way to remote a amplifier from this head unit? TIA

O.K. Any idea on how to get the head unit out?

Pretty sure I have found the one to use but I do not have any removal tools to get the unit out.

Any at home cheats on how to get it out? Currently the only thing left in the interior is the shifter and dash, so taking it to the dealer is not really an option in the immediate future.

  8. I am toying with the idea of getting a Porsche OEM GT3 cup seat for autocross and track days, and keeping my regular "comfort" seat for daily driving.

How long does it take to swap driver's seats, assuming the cup seat has the seat belt receptacle installed to it, so I don't have to change that every time I change seats? What other issues or problems should I account for?

    Thanks!

Hi, that is a great idea! After removing my seats with a 10mm socket and a T20 driver, in 5 minutes, I would have to say you would effectively add atleast 10hp, as these together weigh about as much as an average passenger!?! Good Luck with the AB light. My car pretty much looks ready to go to the track at the moment the only thing in there is the front carpet and the dash. Doing a little sound proofing. :D

  9. I would start here (see pic)

    post-2-1137683656_thumb.jpg post-2-1137683926_thumb.jpg

Then I would check the door edge seal, then - that the window is sealing at the top.

O.K. I give has anyone done this themselves? I have the seats out putting in my sub system and wel I found that the botom of the carpet foan is moist. so if I am going to have the car this far aprt I want to go ahead and do the water lines. So please any pointers would be greatly appreciated. TIA
