  1. Thanks for the detailed replies. Ours is due to be done on Monday - so I will let you know how we get on. PS. I get 24mpg on motorway, 12-15 around town. Ger
  2. What model do you drive Roli, and do you measure this from the on board computer, or from the petrol pump? as I get 23/24mpg in my Cayenne S - according to the trip computer. PS - Are you using flash lube machanical flash lube / electronic / multi point electronic? Also, do you have a link to the good price lube?
  3. Well, I didnt have a fuse in no.30 - but I placed one in there and it didnt make a difference... I checked no.31 and it was fine.
  4. Looks like the "closing aid" circuit is not working. Fuses to check are in the dash right hand side fuse panel. Fuse #30 is 20 amps and supplies power to the "closing aid motor". Fuse #31 is 15 amps and supplies power to the "rear comfort sysytems control unit" which controls the motor. Good luck. Many Thanks! I will let you know how I go...
  5. I didnt even realise this was supposed to work, as its never worked on my 2004 cayenne. Is there a certain fuse or another common reason this might not be working? I have to slam mine shut with my palm for it to close properly. Thanks Ger
  6. Mines booked in to be done on the 1st October. I will let you know how it goes :) Im also paying a bit extra for valve lubrication.
  7. Well in that case, on my OEM plugs, the gap measures 2.1mm (0.085"). Can anyone explain that if the gap is recommended by porsche to me 1.6mm? As a thought- could this be the reason people are getting cracked plugs, due to the electric trying to find a place to go and findinfg it easier to go through to the engine block rather than to bridge the plug gap? Ger
  8. Well, its all fixed so I thought Id wash it and post some pics, seeing as Im happy again :)
  9. This image gives a better idea: Does anyone know why they are designed with a bit of white meterial obstrutcing the gap? also why the gap measures over 2mm (on mine at least)? Uploaded with ImageShack.us
  10. Ive measured the gaps on my old Bosch R5: fgr6kqe plugs from tip of prong to central tip:2.1mm (0.85") ILLUSTRATED IN GREEN from tip of prong to shorter thicker central column: 0.5mm (0.02") ILLUSTRATED IN RED Excuse the terrible image quality - don't ever buy a blackberry! I'm not sure what this tell us though… Uploaded with ImageShack.us
  11. See response #2 -- 1.6 mm Is the gap to be measured from the prong tip to the central column, or from the prong tip to the central 'tip'? (the reason I ask is the elongated tip is further away than the central column, so I doubt sparks would bridge further than they have to. See pic as an example:
  12. who did he use first Richard? here is a good calculator: http://www.autogasyorkshire.co.uk/savings-calculator/
  13. Im in the middle of deciding for my Cayenne S. check out www.lpgforum.co.uk Apparently the cayenne has soft valves, so im looking at 'valve saver' as part of the installation. Keep me posted on your decision making!
  14. Thanks, Im going to try to obtain a whole mirror from a cayenne which is being broken. Failing that Ill have to get the bits from Porsche. Thanks for your help. The alloy is being re-sprayed on friday!
  15. Thanks, turns out I need the plastic bit behind too. Do you know if the touareg mirrors are the same? Ger
  16. Cayenne S (December 2003). Porsche have sent me an exploded diagram, and it looks like I need part 9, and the glass too. I dont have prices yet though - but I wonder if a cayenne or touraeg complete unit would be cheaper form ebay.
  17. I fitted Densos this weekend, its running fine. But I did read on cheaper plugs the gap can increase by 0.01mm every 5000kms-10000kms, so I gapped mine at 1.5mm to allow for some wear. Its running fine atm.
  18. Hi guys, 3 weeks into ownership, the wife has crashed the cayenne... Uploaded with ImageShack.us Uploaded with ImageShack.us a quick question - does the wingmirror of a touareg fit a cayenne? as im trying to source a replacement, also, does the wing mirror come for sale in seperate parts from porsche so I can just replace the damaged bits. Lastly, would this fix my shell problems: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/CHROME-WING-MIRROR-COVERS-VW-TOUAREG-03-08-ST-STEEL-111-/160650925208?pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&hash=item25678a9498 Help!
  19. I did my plugs yesterday - you can use a normal 10mm hex socket for that bolt (which is a torx E female) The tool which I had to order to get the job done was a 12mm Triple Square to get the upper engine mount torque arm out of the way.
  20. Ive removed the plugs & coils before (no cracks weirdly!), is it only a few more steps to get the inlet off? Also, if I did remove it, would I have to buy a new gasket? Im pretty sure from my photos that I do have the metal pipes, but I was hoping someone else who has been through the same would have weighed in with some confirmation. here are some annotations of what I think im seeing: Uploaded with ImageShack.us
