  1. I'm looking at a 2006 997 with 12,000 miles on it to purchase used. It is a beautiful car, but I will miss my maple 3 spoke steering wheel, shifter, and handbrake. Is is possible to order the porsche factory wood? How involved of a project is it to change the wheel (probably not worth it?) How about things like the handbrake, shifter, dash kit, or door trim? I've seen the nonfactory wood aftermarket products but I really would want the factory parts. THANKS!
  2. Okay, I'm caving in and buying a 997. I miss my warranty. Its the wimpy way out but...
  3. Hello, For about 5 seconds at a time and a total of six or seven occurrences over a month the oil guage will go dead and read zero pressure and a instrument failure notice will come up. After a few seconds it starts working again. I 'okay' the message and then no problems for days or weeks. In between the guage seems perfect. Is it essential that I bring it to the factory service/dealers attention or can I forget about it? My '04 996 is out of warranty by two months with 33,000 miles on it. Thanks, Brett
  4. 2003 996 Coupe Any recommendations for an excellent and friendly factory authorized repair shop in the Los Angeles area other than Beverly Hills Porsche?
  5. Hello, I have a 2003 996 manual transmission with 29,000 miles. I have brought the car into Beverly Hills Porsche several times and they tell me their diagnostics cannot find a problem with the car and they will not fix it if they cannot reproduce it. Which, of course, makes sense. When I put the car in reverse or first, especially after having been parked for a few hours or more, it surges sometimes very violently. It does this only sporadically but at least every couple days and often many times on the same day. Sometimes it happens when in reverse and then again when put into first. Gi
