  1. Agree with some advice above. Talk to the dealership (to make sure they don't tow you) and park the car there Friday after work. Let it sit all weekend and then show up monday when the service department opens (don't leave them the key (though I guess they could cut another) if you think they might sneak out and warm it up), probably at seven or eight in the morning, and grab a tech and ride with him as he tries to drive it around the block. Repeat until it happens while they're there. Plus, after it happens bring it in and ask to see the fault code history before they reset it. Try a brand new dealer for this experiment so they may be more willing to work with you than saying you're nuts.
  2. Thanks so much! Now that I know it can be done, is there anywhere you can direct me to find instructions on safe access to the back of the radio (cluster removal or???) and 12V power in the front trunk? Thanks again and for any additional info.
  3. I have an '05 987 with the mid-tier stereo option and have an old, but new, Sony CD changer with an FM modulator which I would like to install. The Sony requires hooking into the antenna connectors of cars but I fear the 987 and its windshield antenna lacks a standard antenna coupling to the head unit. Does anyone know if a DIY install like this is possible and have any links, diagrams or photos? Thank you in advance. Porsche quoted me about $1,600 to have one of their changers installed. Doh!
