  1. Just wanted to thank the author(s) of this fix. I did this procedure over the weekend and it went really smooth, along with the help of the manual for details of disassembly procedures. I ended up going with the best aluminum high/low temp duct joint taping I could find and over lapped it a few times. All of my remaining foam was laying at the bottom of the door compartment! Anyway, it all works like a champ and I had real HEAT this morning on the way to work!! Yay! Thanks again. Mark
  2. Hi all I had my 2000 seats recovered by a pro shop and put them back in today. Pass side, no sweat. The drivers side however, now has all kind of issues with the control switches on the side. The horizontal one (fwd) will not move the seat back and forth, just one side of the switch, when moved up and down, will move the seat bottom up some. On the vertical switch for the backrest ..........that one now controls the fwd and aft movement of the seat! But even with that, it only goes so far forward and then stops. In fact, I can't get the seat to move forward enough to get the two rear bolts back in the rail to bolt the seat down to the car again. Strangly, it appears that the memory thing is still working and "remembering" my seat position, even though the battery was disconnected for a time. What the hell has happened? I pulled the seat out and checked all the connections again...even took the side switch apart to make sure all wires were still attached etc and it all looks fine. I'm completely baffled at this point. Hope someone can shed some light. Thx, Mark
  3. Hi. Looking at this car lift for my 2000 (Atlas MR-06). Just wondering if anyone here uses this model lift and if so, how is the "balance" of the car on the lift and also how is the general access to engine/trans with it?Thx!Mark
  4. I have a 2000 S that has memory seat on drivers side. I am looking at buying used replacement Porsche OEM seats that don't have memory but are electric adjust. Is is possible to remove the memory control box (at least that what I think that's what mounted under my current seat) from my old seat and and simply install and attach it to the new seat to get the memory feature in the new seat? ThxMark
  5. We're these screens (installed in the seat roll bars) an option on the 2000 Boxster, or were they standard? My car, bought used, does not have them and I'm wondering if it ever had them. I do have the center clear wind deflector. Thx! Mark
  6. Thanks guys. Just wanted to make sure before I did the start up, but sounds like it's "done" and I'll just move the car and deal with the light in the spring after I redo the seats. Anyone put new skins on the seats from leatherseats.com? That's where I'm planning to buy from. Mark
  7. I didn't read posts here until I already had my passenger side seat removed on my 00 Box, yes a dumb thing. The wiring connection of course was seperated already........I just took this seat out and was moving the car back in place in the garage. When I fired it up, I didn't notice at all if the airbag light was on. I still don't know. After I read about disconnecting the battery, I did so before I took out the drivers side seat. (No one mentions the extra connectors on this side BTW - a slight ***** - but that's another story) Anyway, now that both seats are out I'm wondering if the first "key on" situation with just the passenger side seat removed might have triggered the AB light already and I shouldn't worry about starting it again (to move it to another garage down the street for the winter, using a temp seat) or is there a chance I dodged the bullet and it might not have been triggered after the first seat...and therefore should NOT start it again until I finish redoing the seats. This second option is a two edged sword. I want to get the Boxster stored elsewhere for the winter so I can move my winter car in the garage, but I won't move it again now if there's a chance the AB bag light is still out. Any thoughts? Thanks and sorry for the long post. Mark
