Thanks for that.. I had a bit of a brain-wave (my brain's pretty small !!) and tried my spare key. Worked like a charm, so it's obvious where the problem lies. I had feared the door switches. Where did you get the new internals for your key ??

Hi, My remote lock/unlock no longer works (2001, C2 996). I had not driven the car for about a week, so went through the routine of unlocking with key and turning the switch to position 1. No dramas, fired up, drove it fine, but it now won't lock or unlock with the remote. I've changed the remote battery; the central locking operates when the car moves off, the windows drop/raise at all the right times, the locking rocker switch on the dash works fine, both doors lock/unlock with the key. I've read the excellent blog on door micro-switches, but it doesn't address this problem, although in the past I have had the issue where it would remote lock, double-beep and then unlock. That problem just went away one day. Any ideas ?? Cheers, Guy
