  1. Anyone have a good source for the correct voltage regulator?
  2. Thanks for the info, I will be buying a load tester if I can find one. Is there anything else I should check out before I reinstall the alternator?
  3. 2002 Boxster S won't start after driving. A long drive will discharge the battery but it can sit in the garage indefinitely and the battery is still good so I don't think I have a short unless it is only while the car is running. The battery is new and I have tried 2 different ones. I have removed the alternator and had it checked at a local O'Reillys and thely said it checked good. I thought I probably had a bad voltage regulator but now I"m lost. Any suggestions? Do I trust the O'Reillys test? Maybe I should change the regulator just to be sure before I put this thing back together. If I cant fix this I will have to tow over 200 miles to the nearest dealer. Thanks in advance for any help.
  4. Thanks for the reply. I swapped the driver and passenger switches and the switches are OK. In fact the pass seat heater was on with no switch connected. With the switch connected the red light is on and the pass seat heats up. So, there is no relay and the heater can turn on by itself? Is the heater hard to replace?
  5. 2002 Boxster S passenger seat heater is stuck on. It's not the switch so I figure it must be a relay. Can anyone tell me which relay it would be and where it is? Thanks in advance
  6. Has anyone tried the PST2 diagnostic software from Durametric? I think it's a CD you load on a laptop and supposed to work like a Porsche PST2. Any comments or recommendations?
  7. Your lucky guess was right on the money. Good picture but I can't tell what the plug is for or what area of the car I'm looking at. Can you enlighten me? I wonder if the drain was plugged from the factory, the previous owner said it had never been in the rain and I guess he was right. Still you would think he would have noticed a problem just from washing the car. I've only had the car a month, sure is nice to have some of you guys to talk to on this forum.
  8. Yes a dealer or an independent shop with a PST2 or PIWIS tester can reset the air bag light. If the light comes back on then you likely have corrosion on the seat belt connectors - and that's a much bigger job. Thanks for the info. I will try to find a local shop with a PST2. Any idea what the plug is (picture in tool pants response)?
  9. Yes, that's the cap alright, sure caused me a lot of trouble. What is it? So, sounds like I will have to get a dealer to reset this light?
  10. Thanks for the info. Not sure if I am replying correctly, but I'm now hoping it will clear on it's own. I did NOT disconnect the battery, would this have prevented this problem? I really don't think any connectors, wiring or components got wet but I guess it's possible. Still under warranty for another few months so maybe I can get some help from Porsche if needed.
  11. 2002 Boxster S, 40000 miles: Found my drivers side carpet wet because the drain line was plugged with a plastic cap. Don't know where the cap came from but looks like a Porsche part. Removed the seat and most of the carpet, dried it out and reassembled yesterday. Now my airbag light is on. Anyone have an idea what I did wrong? It didn't look like any connectors or components were wet, just the carpet and floor. Any help would be appreciated, I am over 200 miles from the nearest dealer.
