  1. It seems like the Durametric software can be downloaded for free, no? http://www.durametric.com/downloadv6.aspx I too have a airbag warning light on as a result of removing the passenger seat to lubricate the rails. Should have disconnected the battery, but oh well, now I need to clear the fault. Can this be done with the downloaded version and a Bluetooth scanner? Marcus
  2. Wow, pretty detailed and amazing info thanks so much. This is great to have although a bit to technical for me to perform myself (I lack the time and the materials) I live not too far from Palo Alto Speedometer but they seem reluctant to take this on. Do you know anywhere else where someone can have a cluster repaired? Mine is a 2000 Cab so it's very specific. The failures are: Speedo LED is cracked and de-laminated (hard to read) and the Odometer display no longer lights up (digits are barely visible under certain circumstances. Marc
  3. Does anyone know if a reliable source for getting the speedometer cluster repaired for a 996? Mine has developed some issues associated with the LED's cracking or winking out and I'd like to find someone who can fix it versus replacing it (problematic) Please let me know if this is something anyone has some experience with this.
  4. My 2000 cabriolet exhibits a funny noise which only happens with the convertible top is up. The noise sounds like a ball bearing rolling around inside the drivers door. I completely disassembled the door including removing the speakers and found nothing loose. When the top is down, it does not make this sound, which is baffling! Anyone else have this annoying sound coming from their 911??
  5. I use a piece of Burgundy colored felt (matches the Arena Red paint) on my 2000 C2 Cab to protect the plastic window. Other than that top is down for months at a time when the Hardtop is fitted.
  6. Does anyone have any experience with stop-leak products in a 996. My 2000 Cab with 43,000 miles has developed a minor oil leak from the right camshaft cover. Nothing major just enough to drip occasionally on the garage floor. Any input on this? Mv
  7. What are the recalls on the 996? I have a 00' Cabriolet and would like to know if there's anything out there that I did not take advantage of. Marcus
  8. I have a 2000 996 Cab with a bad LED display, does anyone know the part number to this component? This display has MPH, Temp, mpg etc.. and goes in the center of the cluster. Marcus
