  1. Car does not run good at all. Missfiring, stuttering, etc. CEL is definitely on. I can clear the codes, but am unsure how to run individual tests for specific faults. Can you shed a little light? Sorry to be so needy, but I am not so familiar with the durametric unit and the video demos on their websight won't play on my computer. Thanks in advance. Jeff Smith
  2. I purchased the durametric diagnostic tool but I don't understand how to use it very well. I ran the "short test" on car and it gave me the following codes: Short Test Bosch Digital Motor Electronics Motronic 5.2.2 Current Fault Codes P1602: Supply voltage Open circuit FREEZE FRAME INFORMATION P0300: Misfire damaging to cat. converter FREEZE FRAME INFORMATION P0301: Cylinder 1 misfire damaging to cat. converter FREEZE FRAME INFORMATION P1319: Misfire emissions-relevant FREEZE FRAME INFORMATION P1313: Cylinder 1 misfire emissions-relevant FREEZE FRAME INFORMATION P1411: Secondary air injection system Cylinder (4-6) Signal implausible FREEZE FRAME INFORMATION P0410: Secondary air injection system Cylinder (1-3) Signal implausible FREEZE FRAME INFORMATION Airbag B05 Current Fault Codes 45: Belt buckle, driver 46: Belt buckle, driver 3: Supply voltage Seat Memory Current Fault Codes 26: Potentiometer left mirror Open circuit vertical 24: Potentiometer left mirror Open circuit horizontal I was hoping the software would help me understand what to replace/repair, but I don't understand the codes.   4. My 1999 996 windsheild washer pump is not working. Yesterday it stopped spraying so I filled up the reservoir (even though I just realized the light on my dash was not illuminated). Thinking this took care of the issue, I tried the washer today while driving and it did not work. I can hear the pump running and then the low washer fluid light came on. I am thinking maybe the hose came off or broke and drained my tank. Any ideas? What is the best way to access the reservoir/pump? Thanks in advance. Jeff Smith Mobile, AL

  6. Are the motor mounts oil filled? if so what kind of damage will I do if I continue to drive the car for a while? Is this a reasonably easy DIY? Lastly, If not an easy fix, what is typical cost of repair at dealership? Thanks in adavance.
  7. After driving my car for about 20 minutes,I had my car lifted with a floor jack at the proper lift point. I was checking the shift cable when i heard a sound (almost like a slightly metallic burp) then I saw what appeared to be oil come down the driver's side and onto the ehaust. It was a significant amount of oil--probably half a cup. I feared the worst, but it cranks and runs fine. Good oil pressure and no additional leaking. Ran the car an addition 10 -15 minutes of hard driving and everything looks fine with good oil pressure. Any ideas?

  9. I am finally getting around to replacing my shift cable. Everything is disassembled except the connections on the transmission. Do these connections simply "pop" on/off? What is the best method for disconnecting them? Thanks. Jeff

  11. Pulled center console. Shift cable is broken...pulled the cable out of its sheath. Its broken about 3' from gear shift. Does anyone have a link to a shift cable replacement guide or DIY? Also, does anyone have the part number for the shift cable (its the passenger side cable for a '99 C2). Thanks.
  12. Proceeding from a stop I shifted from 1st to 2nd...mid-way through the shift, it felt as if the cable broke. I was able to shift into 3rd, but now tranny won't do anything. Any advice, please? BTW, I tried the search tool but couldn't find a relevant topic. Thanks in advance for any help. Jeff
