  1. Hi Guys.... sorry for the long delay. I've been out of town and somewhat out of the loop for a while. I'm back now and will get photos taken tomorrow. Thanks, Rob :) I followed this set of instructions I found on the web - installed it in 1 hr, quite straightforward! v-1 you do not need to disassemble the vi power module. it will fit fine. Also, you do not need a "sling". Just use the windshield mount between the top of the mirror and the headliner. Whole process takes a half hour.
  2. That's pretty funny. BOTH the owner's manual and the fuse panel insert had the sunroof fuse as the C3- shared with the windows. My windows worked, and the fuse didn't seem blown, so I didn't think it was a fuse issue. Or at least not that fuse! Both documents provided with my vehicle were WRONG. Lauren was CORRECT. The fuse was the D4 and it was blown. My fuse guide indicated the D4 was for the power top on a cabriolet. D4 fuse replaced as it was obviously blown. Thanks a million!!
  3. I was hardwiring a V1 on my 2005 TT and was using my volt meter's piercing probe to check which wires near the sunroof motor were switched. In doing so, I pierced the red wire that seems to run between two sections of the sunroof motor assembly. The probe went right through the wire and insulation to the steel roof and caused a quick short. Now the sunroof isn't working at all. I've checked the fuse at the fusebox and it's still fine. I got the fuse number from the owner's manual, so I'd hope I was looking at the correct one. Can someone confirm the fuse number? Is there a second fuse for the sunroof motor? I didn't see anything at the motor itself. Stumped!
  4. Short answer: No. But, no drilling is necessary. Here's what I did for the same situation: Jack up the car. Remove the wheel. Remove the forward and the rear plastic mud sills. I believe a T-20 torx bit will be necessary, as will a 10mm socket. Remove the metal inner panel as well. After you remove the panels, you will be able to push up with you hands to massage the dent. If necessary, you can use a pliable plastic spatula or scraper to get over the top of the air intake. don't use hard tools as you will likely cause a reverse dent. The metal is not too stiff. Reverse process and admire your bodywork skills!!
