  1. Wheels are ET58 rear, and ET 52 front & 10" and 8.5 respectively, just had the wheels rebalanced using a lug centric balancing tool. Getting significant vibration at 65 mph. Saturday I will install the 5mm spacer in front and the 12mm in rear and see if issue resolves. Only other possibility is bad wheel, spacer, or tires for cause. Porsche dealer sold me the blizak after checking wi/tech support rear tires and I purchased the fronts from Tirerack. Wheels tires & spacer all new.
  2. Hearing sounds make me think something is rubbing on the fan blades. Is it fairly easy to access the fan to determine if something is amiss?
  3. Thank your for the reply, please explain "road forced balance"
  4. '04 996 C2 - normal summer tires are 18" Light OEM. Purchased Blizaks for all 4 and purchased new rims (inexpensive & just for winter) that are 18x8.5 &18x10. Seller mandated 12MM spacer for rear and 5MM for front. He says w/o rear spacer tire will hit strut when tires heat up (currently there is no spacer on rear and vehicle seems to drive OK with the new rims) & I know I need spacers in front as w/o them the wheel hits the caliper. Question is will these spacer sizes have any adverse effect on handling? Are they two large? New used spacers before! Thx for replies.
  5. Yup, found some of that stuff and lately been noticing some noise coming from the back of the center console. Possible other foam pieces striking the fan? Suggestions on determining issue and a fix (Hope it doesn't include a lot of dismantling). Thx for recommendations.
  6. Loren, will the one I have work proper?
  7. Thx Loren, but maybe you typed a wrong digit? My new one is 997-602-102-00, where as above you have 997-602-107-00. Just checking to make sure I have the correct part. Please advise, thx again
  8. By the way car is an '04 C2
  9. Changed my plugs yesterday and found one coil cracked. Local auto parts store looked up a replacement after giving them #'s on my coil, make, model, ect.. Picked up the replacement just now and it's a Beru and looks the same but the part number is 997-602-102-00, the old one is #996-602-100-00. Am I OK using this one? Replies appreciated.
  10. Loren, there are 2 small dents from the deer the size of the palm of your hand, one about 10" from the door handle. Window works and door poems from inside car, but not from outside. Door alignment seems correct. I looked at a parts diagram from Autoatlantic and I don't see what could be causing this. Key works in cylinder and locks the doors even with window down (shouldn't do this right?) Any idea what could be causing this? Electrical? If so can you identify a part #? As always thx for your input.
  11. Small dents in front left fender & door. If that isn't bad enough the door won't open although alignment appears correct and the window operates. Car will lock even with window down which I don't believe it should. Must be some type of sensor is screwy. $1000 comp deductible. I wasn't even going to file a claim but with door issue this could get costly. Any thoughts? Car is an '04 C2.
  12. Anyone ever see a YouTube video on this? Replacing spark plugs and this would be helpful. Did a search here and didn't see a details removal process, although I did note the pse install one. Replies appreciated.
  13. I don't have a dash light on when my spoiler is up, come to think of it I don't have a specific light on the dash that tells me my lights are on either other than the speedo, tach, ect. Light up. Do I have bulbs burnt out ('04 C2)?
  14. Already cleaned radiators/condensers 2 months ago - I will put a temp gauge on and get a read. Thx
  15. Did this mod put noticed today the side marker only blink when parking and or driving lights are on. Shouldn't this mod work when no lights are on except directional signals? I am using LED lights in the side markers.
  16. Is this still the correct plug for an '04 C2 ? Searched the forum and this is what Loren quoted back in '08 But sometimes the Mfg changes part # so I though I'd ask. Also is this still the preferred plug by consensus. Thx for responses..
  17. Manual dictates a H11 for the high beams w/the Litronic option ( I know the high beam is halogen) H7 would seem to be a lower bulb light??
  18. The bulbs should be in thr upper outside corner of the unit (they are on my C2) mine were burnt out, you can replace them from an auto parts store or go LED as I did.
  19. '04 C2. A/C seems to work but not exactly very cold on an 85 degree day here. Just not sure how cold it should get, is there a specification for this? Can I assume the system is similar to an Audi? Thx for any advise.
  20. Thx Loren, I will find someone with the proper equipment.
  21. Thx JFP & Dk570, thinking about the coils as I think I detect a slight miss when parked and running. No codes are thrown, but figure while I am doing plugs might be the best time to change the coils on a 10 yr old car. Make sense? Am I correct that w/o software there is no way to know which coil or plug may be bad?
  22. 'O4 C2 and I will be replacing the coils most likely with the plugs. I assume the coils are Bosch and I am interested to know if anything other than OEM Porsche parts should/ can be used (maybe Audi coils fit?) Trying to save $. Thx for replies.
