  1. Chances are there is something on the seal and it needs to be replaced. I suggest doing what Dr.Carerra did, and just buy a 996 TT. It seemed to get his mind off of the door seal :renntech:
  2. I recently put an new muffler and tips on my 99 C2 and would be happy to unload the stock. feel free to e-mail mcvgums@cs.com, I am located in ATL Only 33K miles on the old Mufflers
  3. I have searched this site and others and cannot find a DIY for sport spring installation. Does anyone know where I can go to find this info? Thank you :renntech:
  4. That was the first mod on my car, and it was a great sound improvement, I didn't notice much BHP change until I put the Fabspeed mufflers on. I love the combo, and it takes the tame 996 factory sound and gives it the some teeth. It is an easy install, and a fun way to dress up your engine. :clapping: I also painted my dipstick and oil filler cap red to match. I think that officialy makes me the biggest geek on this forum.
  5. Where did you find these body kits?
  6. I was at the tack yesterday for the first time with a 1999 996 six-speed. What a vast improvement from my old car, but I kept getting a flashing light from the temp gauge. I blasted the heat and short shifted but I didn't expect this from this car. I have seen where many of you have put on third radiators. My question is what is max temp I should watch for? Will the third radiator make a big enough difference or is there something else going on? How do I check the function of the fan in the decklid? :renntech: Thanks Mark
  7. Where can I go to get the correct aerokit for a 99 996 narrow body 6-speed. I have searched the forum, but I can't find anything but installation instructions. I am having some bodywork done and thought since they have the paint gun out, I might add some downforce and style to my 996. These guys do great work, but are not familiar with porsche. I think that OEM would be the best fit from what I have read, but I don't know where to go to look at choices. Please feel free to show off your kits with pictures. Some of you have beautiful cars, I would love to come close to some of your work. Is it possible to buy GT3 bumpers and rockers and install them on my car? Thank you, Mark :renntech:
  8. Does anyone have a diagram or picture of the idle control valve? I have a similar problem and would like to try this. Is it attachet to the throttle cable cam?
  9. My wife took my car to meet a friend yesterday and turned too close to a parking pole yesterday and scratched my left quarter pannel pretty badly. There is some slight deformation and will require serious paint and body work. Anything I should be carefull to tell the body shop when I take it in? Thanks :help:
  10. My check engine light came on and I took it straight to the dealer. My car felt fine, so I didn't have it towed. The tech told me the computer read a one occurence 5th cylinder misfire. He checked the coils on 5 and 6 and said everything looked fine, even the spark plugs. Should I do any more investigation or just keep driving? I am headed to the track at the end of the month. Thank you in advance for your help and advice. Mark
  11. I just called B&M to find a dealer to get one of these, and I was told that they are discontinued. Can anyone tell me where to get a 45182? Any help would be appreciated. Thank you.
  12. Has anyone painted the silver boot levers next to the driver's door? They seem to be kicked around pretty good on the cars I've seen.
  13. Thanks Loren, the shop said that I will not get all the benefit from my intake/exaust unless I do the $1400 computer "flash". They must be talking about a chip, what kind of improvement might I see or feel?
  14. I've recently installed Fabspeed intake, and I have ordered the mufflers for my 1999 996 C2. Is it beneficial to have the shop flash the computer?
