  1. Ditto. And I am happy to confirm that the Bosch 94-R is an EXACT replacement for the OEM battery in the 1997 997tt.
  2. Thanks for the great thread, guys. To add my two cents... It's difficult to get a fair price on a new car. The more complex the transaction, the more likely you will make a mistake in the dealer's favor. I highly recommend reading Remar Sutton's "How Not to Get Taken Everytime" before you buy a car. http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/014100149...5Fencoding=UTF8 BTW, the argument about leasing getting more favorable tax treatment is only true if your business owns the car (not recommended). If you own the car, your business can pay you an auto allowance, which is an easy way to pay for your business use of your car with pre-tax dollars. (Or so I was told, best to confirm this with your accountant.)
  3. From my limited understanding, the 997 rear seats do not include LATCH anchors, and child seats must be installed in the rear seat of a 997 using the rear seat belts. It is my further understanding that (a) you can install a child seat tether anchor behind the 997 rear seat, and (b) Porsche sells a kit that will install LATCH anchors in the front passenger seat of a 997 and also deactivate the front passenger air bag. My own experience with child seats suggests that the LATCH attachment system is considerably more secure than using the car's seat belts. Is it possible to install LATCH anchors in the rear seat of a 997? If so, please advise how. Thank you!
  4. AFAIK, the size measurement refers to the diameter of the rim, so 18" rims have an 18" diameter while 19" rims have a 19" diameter. The dimensions of the tire will also affect the ultimate wheel size. My question is whether the 997 electronics will self-adjust to different wheel/rim/tire diameters or whether you must use OEM specifications to ensure the correct functioning of the speedometer/odometer and all the electronic systems that look at wheel speed (ABS, traction control, and stability protection). Hopefull some renntecher knows the answer to this basic question!
  5. From reading posts, it seems like 18" rims provide a better ride and better handling than 19" rims, and tires for 18" rims are cheaper than those for 19" rims, but many people think 19" rims look better. Is that true? If so, can you put 18" rims on a 997S, which ships with 19" rims standard, or will it confuse the speedometer/odometer or any of the computerized systems like ABS or ESP? Thanks.
