  1. Update--results of the PPI: Door and fender have been repainted. One front tire is near new, (probably damaged in the accident and replaced?) Engine trans, frame, suspension, top all good. Top needs adjustment, but covered under warranty as is a sticky cup holder. Minor scratches here and there on car. DME= Overrev---267 in range one—8 in range two----no codes stored. From searches anything over range 2 is a potential issue? A/C condenser replaced wrong color. Wheel socket missing, one key , seat bottoms missing. One under body stud missing. Car shows very well.....btw if I got the car it would be for the long haul knowing that selling it would be tougher with the carfax accident. So based on this new information any thoughts? How much discount for a car with this history? Any thoughts opinions are welcomed and appreciated.
  2. I have been looking all summer for a clean 997.2. Looked at quite a few and came close on a couple of occasions. Recently came a cross a 2012 GTS with low miles. The carfax shows clean title, but indicates the car was involved in an accident. The dealer (local dealer that specializes in buying high end vehicles wholesale and turning them) seems very forthcoming explaining that the car has had the drivers door repaired repainted as well as possibly a repaint on the front fender. Car looks very good and dealer has no problem with me taking the car in for an inspection. btw car asking price is quite a bit lower than typical retail ~$20,000 conservatively. This could be a lot of car for the money, or a disaster..? My question, should I run from this car, or give it some consideration taking into account if I ever sell it I will more than likely need to discount it for the carfax report? appreciate any thoughts shared. Thanks
  3. I am going from a 2003 C4. I drove a 991 C2S and really like it, but this car is significantly less $$. Do you think in the long run the base engine will be a disappointment? all the other options are there. Just wondering....
  4. Hi Guys, looking at purchasing a 2012 Black edition 911. My question is the car has red instruments, red seat belts and red brake calipers. I thought these cars were all black, does anyone know if it was an option to go with the red items listed above? And if it were an option, doesn't that take away from the notion to 'black out' the car? Any other thoughts on the Black edition? I know it has the base engine, but seems to have a pretty nice option pack as standard build. Thanks
