  1. Hi, When I go over 65mph the wind noise on my hardtop is pretty loud and is coming from the top to windscreen area. I have the little plastic caps on properly but no matter what I do they don't seat properly into the locating slots either side of the windscreen, They are about 10mm short of where they should be and the front latch doesn't pull them into the slots. When the auto latch on the soft top closes it pulls the top in tight but the manual hardtop latch doesn't. Can anything be adjusted? Thanks
  2. Hi, Today I got round to fitting my hardtop for the first time, I followed the instructions and it is on and locked at the rear, My problem is that it seems a little loose at the front, The guide pegs are not sitting inside the slots and look like the need to go in about 10mm. The latch seems a little slack aswell, I thought this might have pulled the top into the slots but it doesn't, Have tried taking off and trying to seat them but as soon as you seat the back they are out again.Any ideas? it is watertight though but whilst driving around it is bouncing a little at the corners. On a happier note I have my spoiler switch fitted and functioning and my touchscreen sat nav installed which is great. Pics will follow for the double din. Thanks
  3. Ok I got it working even though it seems its a demister switch, two prong green went to 12 and 25 in blue plug this controls the flashing as the spoiler is moving, I had the brown wire in the wrong slot, slot 9 is correct as there are two wires pretty much the same. The guy has sold a lot of these with good feedback but his instructions could have been better as the wire colour was wrong for slot 25. Anyway happy days and thank god for wiring diagrams on the net. Thanks for your time Loren
  4. That's not good, Defo is that number. It does work though i.e raises and lowers spoiler and also flashes as it moves its just it doesn't stay lit when extended and I believe the two prong green wire which on closer inspection is in A1 on the switch. I have dropped the seller an e-mail but as yet no reply. Thanks again
  5. Loren, Excuse my stupidity, I was looking at the car plug rather than the switch. I have included a photo, Part number is 98661313400. Does this help. thanks
  6. Hope this helps Loren. tanks
  7. Hi, im currently having problems fitting my spoiler switch which is the one that tells you when the spoiler is going up or down but also the one where I can put it up or down from the dash. I have done the wires to the old switch which is fine but on the 4 wires that plug into the cluster plugs I have an issue, it says green (double ended) wire to black/ white, And white/green in blue connector, i have no white/ green and have two black/ whites, do u know which pin numbers i need to put them in? The other wires to the white connector and black connector are married up fine to the colour coded wires. 1999 carrera 4. Any ideas as my dash is in bits? thanks. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/261264044414?ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1497.l2649
  8. Hi, Guys ive got some Motul gear 300 75W90 for my gearbox and rear diff, But I also have this Motul 90 PA Diff Differential LSD Oil and was wondering if it is suitable for my front diff on my 1999 C4? Any ideas? thanks
  9. Job done!!! Not much skin left on my arms but she's done and feels even better to drive, Misfire was a electric connector plug not seated properly, Not sure if they were the original plugs (Beru) but they looked done anyway, Cleaned all the coils. Noticed 2 of the coils were different part numbers and the seating bolts were harder to get out so think they must be originals too. My exhaust manifolds don't look great right enough so may replace these in the near future. Bone dry underneath regarding oil leaks so that's good. thanks
  10. Hi, Im going to have another go in the morning, Plugs were defo tightened but I thinking a coil is not seated properly or the electrical connector as I had a problem with one of them. Will let u know. Cheers
  11. Need some help, I changed the plugs on drivers side and started her up and CEL came on and is misfiring, Plugs are defo in proper and im a bit worried. I have changed plugs on loads of cars and are usually very easy but the Porsche not so, Im wondering if the coils are seated properly. Do the screws seat them properly or do they need a good shove in as im thinking maybe the furthest rear coil didn't pop in and was a little proud when I put the screws back in. Any thoughts? Thanks
  12. Hi Guys, Need a little help. Today I have moved my climate control module to the bottom cubby hole in prep for my double din install. Im going to get a pro to do the install of the stereo but in the meantime I want to put my CDR-32 back in. The problem is that I don't know which way the black and brown plugs go in. Does the black go in the top or bottom receiver on the back or is it the other way about. Should have taken a picture with my memory but as per just jumped right in. Please help!!!! Thanks
  13. Hi guys, Just a little update after 6 weeks of ownership. I solved all my rates eventually mostly with a little krytox on touching parts. Had my oil changed with Fuchs titan race pro 5W-40. Fixed passenger seat issue. Full valet and waxed every week. I have put 1500 miles on her which was more than the last year and she hasn't missed a beat, Meant to be weekend car but cant help myself. Going to do the spoiler button in dash upgrade as soon as it arrives. Coilovers within next few months as I feel the suspension although working ok is 14 years old. New bigger tailpipes soon. Maybe some sideskirts aswell. One thing im not sure about is that I have jumped in and bought a double din touchscreen unit, Its not Pioneer or anything like that but still cost decent money, I have no problem shifting the climate unit and have all the facias required to do the job but im not too sure how easy the stereo wiring is going to be. I have searched lots and some of it is baffling me. How hard is this? Anyway thanks guys and im away for a drive.
  14. Today I picked up my 1999 Carrera 4 convertible. Drove her home 300 miles and was pretty much perfect. The only thing I dislike is the steering wheel adjustment which doesn't go up or down and as im tall means I cant see the top of the dials. A few interior rattles which im going to look at today and 3 small stone chips is really all I can find wrong. It has 68k on it with full dealer history having 9 stamps. Just had New rear exhaust, New tyres, Couple of new arms and all the brake pipes replaced for its mot. Going to get the engine oil changed along with the gearbox and front diff. The car has only done 3k since last oil change but that was almost 3 years ago.
