  1. Hi all, I just installed the cruise control retrofit on my C4S : cruise control set to "with cruise control" in DME (with Durametric Pro).


    - I connected pin 1 cruise control to grey connector instrument cluster pin 17

    - I connected pin 2 cruise control to fuse B7

    - I connected pin 3 cruise control to grey connector instrument cluster pin 4

    - I connected pin 4 cruise control to grey connector instrument cluster pin 1


    However, when I read actual values, it says "cruise control readiness = off", whether I press the cruise control button or not.


    No green light whatsoever.

    Can anyone help ?

  2. HI all,


    I recently bought a 2005 Cayenne 3.2 V6.


    I know I will rarely open the rear glass hatch, but I noticed a weird thing :


    - I can open the rear glass by pressing & holding the key fob button for about 2 seconds, then the lid pops open

    - however, I cannot open the glass by pressing the switch below the rear wiper, nor by pressing the switch in the driver's door


    I read that the switches under the rear wiper often fail, that can easily be replaced, but what about the other (interior) switch ?


    I'm thinking maybe a fuse can be blown, but where exactly is that fuse located ?

    I had a quick look around, and it looks like he removed the so called 'bearing screw'.


    In workshop manual it says "Caution : parts of the shifting mechanism will fall into the transmission if the bearing screw No 23 is unscrewed."


    So I'm afraid that will be a transmission removal to put the bits back ?!

  4. Hi all,


    a friend of mine wanted to change his transmission oil on his 996 Carrera 3.4 (6 speed manual).


    He drained transmission fluid correctly, then filled the gearbox with Porsche transmission fluid, exactly 2.8 l.


    Then he tried his gears : goes into reverse without pressing in, has hardly any other gear.


    Then he checked and realised that he used the WRONG hex plug to fill the transmission fluid : instead of (from behind car) the left pretty low one, he used the right upper one (as well a 10 mm hex).


    Then, he undid undid the correct plug to check level, level was ok.


    How come gears don't work properly ? How can this be fixed ?



  5. As Loren says : if you remove the MAF and there is no difference, then most likely the MAF isn't working at all.

    I had a similar issue, followed the forum members' advise : MAF still looked brand new, cleaned it, removed it to test (made no difference), replaced it and all is as it should now : no hesitation, no hiccup, no flat spots, just perfect !

    My guess (as from what I have learned here) : MAF !
