    Thanks...I found it. Only took me an hour to find it this time. Completed the install. They sound pretty good, fills the car up a bit more with sound, but nothing really to write home about are they? Oh well...it's better than it was.

    OK Guys....honest...I'm actually kind of a handy guy. Really....I am doing the rear speaker install on my 99 Boxster. The speakers are all mounted and the storage compartment put back in and the roof all re attached. I am now at the step that says remove rear quarter panel behind passenger seat. It says if you have a black interior, the phillips screw might be quite hard to find. Man is that an understatement. I have been trying to locate that screw for the last 2 hours. Literally 2 full hours. I have been using high intensity lights and even tried using a small magnet. I have felt around until my fingernails are breaking and my fingertips are bleeding. First....tell me that there really is a small screw there somewhere....and secondly does anybody have any tips whatsoever on how I might go about locating this screw. I am at my wits end. I'm starting to believe there is no screw. Help....tips....hints....suggestions....anything

    I have the P69 Sport Design interior package on my Boxster. This is a leather interior that is leather with many of the trim pieces painted in a color that seems to be called metal grey from what I have been able to glean from the 986 options page. It is kind of a silver color. The guy who owned the car before me wasn't very careful with his seat belts and has put a couple nasty scratches on the side of the center console just paint deep. This silver is kind of an odd colour to try and match. I have tried with numerous different shades of silver and they don't even come close. The paint isnt smooth or glossy....it has almost a granite look and feel to it. Does anyone know where I can obtain some of this specific touch up paint? It's not the same as any of the exterior colors that you get from Porsche. Thanks eh

    I am just about to order the product Das Schild from EagleDay.com. ($242.95)They are hood liners for the front and rear trunks of the Boxster. Their intention is to prevent hood dings from closing your lids on your luggage or what have you in your trunks. Before I click the confirm order button, I was wondering if anybody has these and if they do, are they a quality product. Das Schild has their own internet web site where I located the product.

    I just spoke briefly with Continental imports by e-mail. They advise that they have an adapter mounting bracket that is available from them for about 20 dollars that they say will adapt the 7860 to the OEM mounts. I sent them back an e-mail for clarification and pricing. No picture of it though. I will have to wait and see I guess. I am always a bit suspicious of adapters. Hopefully this will address my problems. Only time will tell.

    Thanks for your reply. If your friend Dave ever changes his mind(no pun intended) I would sure be in the market for a model 2660. It seems much more straight forward than attempting to adapt the newer model. PJ

    I have a 99 Porsche Boxster. I am looking to install a Becker Silverstone CD changer. The cd changer that was OEM for this car was the Becker Silverstone model 2660. Becker no longer makes these and has non available. They replaced it with the 7860. I have heard that this unit is smaller and the mounting hardware does not conform to the Boxsters ready mounting system. Becker has been of no help to me. Does anyone know if the Becker 7860 will work or has proper brackets for this install, or could it be a nightmare to install. Better yet....does anyone have a Becker Silverstone 2660 with all the required brackets and mounting gear. Thank you for your help PJ
