  1. Autozone sells a neat piggyback add-a-fuse unit that allows adding a hookup without removing the fuse box. It has a wire extending from the unit that you use to hook up the detector. I used a bolt on the side of the fuse box for a ground. I hooked up my Valentine One to a little-used switched circuit - the rear wiper I believe. Ran the wire right up behind the carpeting and weatherstripping and tucked it in along the base of the windshield.
